Dangerous secrets can lurk under the water's surface

Ariana Alivette has lived a life of perceived luxury in the elusive Omni Towers. While most of the remaining survivors around the world are struggling to survive, Ariana has been locked away to protect a dangerous secret. But, even the walls of a gilded cage can't last forever.

When Ariana makes the decision to reveal her secret to save a life, she suddenly finds herself targeted by those determined to use her for their own ambitions. Ariana must quickly learn the rules of this new world and do whatever is necessary to master her own fate, because one wrong decision means losing her life—and her heart.

love it

Jamie Waters series is a continuation in the world of MC. The River Rats and the coalition.
The drama, romance, action, mystery, keeps me on the edge of my seat wanting for more. This is a great series.
Paige Reisenfeld narration makes this a very good listen.

Story 4.5 ☆ ~ Performance 5 ☆ ~ Overall 5 ☆

This is the fourth book/first series I've read/listened to by Jamie A. Waters. I listened to the first three audiobooks in this series back to back and couldn't wait to start book four. Fantasy is not my normal genre, which seems to be slowly changing. I am completely invested in these characters and this world that has been created. I tend to dislike triangles, and I accepted with it in the first three. This had another triangle romance involving Ariana, a new character. I really liked her, and the supporting characters, but was frustrated with the triangle part of the storyline. I took off a half star for this trope repetition. We still got an audiobook filled with likable characters, characters to hate, action, drama, and the suspense of where it was all leading. I am truly looking forward to continuing this series!

Paige Reisenfeld is an amazing narrator. She voiced the male and female characters perfectly. She has so much talent, as it's rare for someone to make me forget I'm listening to one narrator. She performed with emotion that had this rolling like a movie in my head. Perfection!

Dying for the next...

*Updated June, 2024, shortly following the audio version—

🎧 Audio:
The narration, performance and all-around sound quality are amazing. Paige manages to make this sound almost like a full-cast performance, all by herself. Absolutely brilliant. 🦩
5 stars.

Also, having already eyeball–read this entire series and knowing the outcome, it still has me on the edge of my seat. Waters is an amazing writer and world-builder. This would make an amazing television series or movies.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book picks up right where Tremors of the Past ended; though as Book 4 in the series, this one features Ari, primarily, where books 1-3 featured Kayla. So you could come into the series on this book and not be too lost, though personally I enjoyed having the background that was provided in Kayla’s books.

Also: reading this one first would spoil the outcome of Kayla’s love triangle.

We see a lot more of Alec, some of Sergie, Jason, a bit of Devan and some new-to-us (if you’re following the series in order) characters. Some you may love to hate, as I did. Others remain a mystery. Valentina is introduced near the end and she’s a complete bad-$$, leaving me stoked to read her books which are numbers 5 and 6.

Ari is a fun character, well developed and in good continuity with what we’ve seen of her so far. She’s very talented and we’ll learn much from her, as do the other Drac’kin in the series along with us. This book is no less gripping or suspenseful than the first three in the series, with action, romance, drama, mystery and a tiny bit of darkness.
I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish and while it didn’t end on a cliffhanger, I absolutely needed to start on the next book as this world is everything.

This is my fourth Jamie Waters book, and my fourth 5-star review for her, but there’s literally nothing to pick on here.

It’s gripping, the manuscript is clean, continuity is excellent and it’s original, something I have trouble finding these days.

Lots of action!

This book was different in the respect of we have delved deep into Kayla life and in here she is basically nonexistent as we follow another MC. This one is all about Arianna, whom we briefly met in the last book, and her non existent life up until now. It does have a couple guys wanting for her attention and goes back and forth between them. While there are new actions and activities the basic story is similar to Kayla's. This is a continuing story of setting up the River rats and the coalition people in their own towers.

Overall it is still a good story with a lot of action and drama. I liked learning about a newer character but am unhappy with the triad situation again. Although i had high hopes for Sergio. I listened to this on audio. Paige Reisenfeld does a super job narrating this one.

Great Continuation

This is the fourth book in The Omni Tower Series. The world building continues where the third book left off. If you want to avoid any spoiler, you have to listen to the first books in the series before this one. This isn't a standalone. In this installment, we follow Ariana. She is a fantastic character, beautiful, innocent, and determined. Her love interests are intriguing. The story is entertaining, filled with danger, drama, mystery, romance, and twists and turns. Paige Reisenfeld did an excellent job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to listening to Flames of Redemption, the next book in the series. #PFPAudio
