Publisher's summary

In the riveting sequel to the Amazon top 10 best seller EMP: Equipping Modern Patriots - A Story of Survival, Jonathan Hollerman masterfully paints a realistic world of chaos and despair and an incredible will to survive in the aftermath of a nationwide, long-term, grid-down scenario.

When the retreat where Sean and Maria reside suddenly grows exponentially, they must make tough decisions on splitting up and dividing their resources. Unknowingly, this leaves them vulnerable to a new, much larger threat that looms nearby. The devastation of America is also revealed through the eyes of a new character, Lt. Col. Bruce Harris, Commander, 31st Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division. Colonel Harris is tasked with restoring electricity to the small town of Warren, PA, reestablishing order to the area, and tracking down a rogue platoon of Army Rangers that are reportedly pillaging the countryside. All is not as it seems though, and his orders will have life-changing consequences that leave him questioning where his true loyalty lies.

We're from the govt and we're here to help you

Government taking people from their homes and putting them in refugee camps called Green Zones which were actually death camps full of disease, crime, and starvation. A bad to worse scenario.

Mostly a civil war story. Some prepping ideas, but mostly about combat and strategy.

Narrator superior.

Story not my cup of tea, but many will enjoy this genre.

Another good one

I liked the first one so much more but volume 2 is pretty darn good too.
One thought about this type of SHTF situations: nuke power plants will go melt down. We saw what would happen , even with a full force efforts by one of the most modernized and powerful nation, Japan. What if we don't have any modern resources available to stop or contain nuke plants running wild, longest they can contain the full blown disaster would be less than 24hrs, possibly much shorter. How we survive in the land contaminated by deadly radio active materials that you can't see or smell? For those who like to think and prep for SHTF situations, considering where would the less contaminated area would a must.

This is your mission should you choose to accept..

The cast of characters is numerous. It requires your undevided attention but the last half of the story is fast paced. It nearly makes the convoluted cast worth it. The huge cast needs your attention to get the most out of this GOOD story. This is not for the passive listener IMHO. Still yet, I recommend this book.

A must read/listen.

Great all around! Nothing negative to say! Great story! I listened to all of his books. Now seriously considering his security services.

Really Got After Thus Time

Firstly the reader for Aftermath was better than the first book by leaps and bounds. That made the story much easier to follow and the gave the characters depth. The story was good and a very good addition to the genre in general and the first book specifically. So..."the government" chooses to play games with its citizens. No surprise there, but that angle was not overly dark and sinister. The overarching concern was what happens to communities that settle in for the long haul when federal forces do show up and how are they equipped to handle long-term issues. I dedicated time to listening to this book that I would not have normally...and I have no complaints about how we are left wide open for a third book.
