저자: 김시덕
1975년 서울 출생. 고려대 일어일문학과를 졸업하고 일본 국문학연구자료관에서 박사학위를 받았다. 현재 서울대 규장각한국학연구원 조교수이다. 조선·명·일본 간 국제전쟁으로서의 임진왜란을 중심으로 16-20세기 동부 유라시아 지역의 전쟁사를 연구하고 있다. 고문헌을 비롯한 다양한 자료에 근거해서 전쟁이 초래한 동아시아 차원의 변화와 역사의 흐름을 추적해왔다. 나아가 한반도가 지정학적 특수성 때문에 여느 국가와는 다른 궤적을 그렸다는 인식이 실상과 다르다는 점을 밝히고자 한다.
일본에서 펴낸 박사학위논문 [이국 정벌 전기의 세계 - 한반도·유구·오호츠크 해 연안]으로 2011년 외국인 최초로 일본 고전문학학술상을 받았다. 2015년에는 한국 동방문학비교연구회의 석헌학술상 수상 대상작으로 선정됐다.
저서로는 『히데요시의 대외전쟁』(공저), 『그들이 본 임진왜란』, 『이국과 일본의 전쟁과 문학』(공저), 『교감 해설 징비록』, 『그림이 된 임진왜란』 등이 있다.
