Good, Not Great

Any additional comments?

This was a solid story. Characters held my interest, had an unforeseen ending, and the narrator did a good job. Well done, but not great enough to entice me to listen to it again.

More Great Suspense to LOVE!!

This is a spin off, very loosely, from her Bullet Catcher series. And let me tell you, I was heart broken when she said she was done w/ that series!!
If you haven't read Roxanne St. Claire, that woman can WRITE, and she can write anything...from edge of your seat, Mission Impossible adventure to emotional scenes that will wrench your gut...and I was like OH NOES...but she doesn't dissapoint one bit picking up w/ this new series. I'd actually read the books, but when they first came out, but it was a true pleasure listening to Edgo of Sight...the narrator, Violet Gray, truly brought these amazing characters to life. To me, a good book rolls like like watching a movie in my head ~ listening to a GREAT book IS watching a movie in my head. I can't think of a better way to explain to you. I never thought I'd be a fan of audio books, but I'm here to tell if you have a great narrator, they ROCK!!

Quick run down on the story ~ Samantha Fairchild witnesses a high profile murder while working, and is scared for her life. Because of past bad blood, she's afraid the police aren't really interested in looking out for her best interests...and she's not sure where to turn next. So she texts an friend who also happens to be an investigative journalist who she's lost touch with ~ who says come right over.

Sam had lost touch w/ Vivi, the journalist, because of her brother, Zach...and Sam's feelings of betrayal and hurt when Zach just up & forgot about her. When Zach is the one who at Vivi's apartment when Sam gets there, w/ his missing eye, scarred face, and sparks flying between them, Sam runs...right into a killer.

Is that teaser enough?? LOL, you HAVE to get these books. I'm doing book 2 today ~ book 3 isn't out on Audio yet, but guess what? It just won a National Readers Choice Award, so I'm sure it will be out soon!!

Edge of Sight by Roxanne St. Claire

Where does Edge of Sight rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among my favorites.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I really liked Samantha. She had a good head on her shoulders which served her well in her fight to stay alive.

What does Violet Grey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Aside from allowing me to listen while driving... I felt her performance added to my opinion of the characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The time in the basement. The willingness they each had to sacrifice for the others.

Any additional comments?

THE EDGE OF SIGHT is one of my favorite books by Roxanne St. Claire. It's the first in her Guardian Angelino's series, but Zach and Samantha's story really starts in the prequel, "Taken to the Edge".

This one starts with Samantha witnessing a murder making herself the target of a professional hitman. She must go into hiding if she wants to keep herself alive. She turns to her old friend Vivi Angelino for help which also puts Zach back in her life. The man who broke her heart when he went back to the Middle East and never contacted her again after their three week whirlwind affair.

There are twists, turns, danger, intrigue and... a second chance at love. This is a spinoff of the Bullet Catcher's series, featuring the Rossi family who are related to Vivi and Zach Angelino. Great story. Fully developed characters, very well plot line and a promise of more cases to be solved! I listened to the audible version the second time I "read" this book and was pleased with the quality of the narration. 4.5 stars

Not sure!

Story was good, however, I am not sure I am going to get the next book in the series and I love series.Maybe I will read it, I have said it more than one time, the narrator can make or kill the book. This one did not do it for me. She has a good voice, but that's all.

Good Book

The story was good and keep me enthralled from beginning to end. I will definitely listen to this author again. The narrator, however, was not great. Some parts sounded like a normal reading voice, but most of it was very choppy- saying a few words and stopping just enough to be bothersome. She also had a “hard sound” to her reading. If I can avoid this narrator, I will.

Absolutely Outstanding!!!

This is by far the best Romantic Suspense I have listened to in a long time! Not since Linda Howard's MacKenzies or Elizabeth Lowell's Donavan series have I enjoyed a book so much! Love, love, love the new series. Hope that Audible gets more of this series....

Edge of Sight

After reading this one, and probably reading more than once, I binged it on audio and enjoyed it just as much or more. Samantha Fairchild witnessed a murder and now is running from the murderer and the Boston Police who she has a love/hate/hate relationship with. (Read the book to find out why, it is an tasty piece of info) When she gets a text from her best friend Vivi Angelinos, an investigative reporter, she asks her for help and goes to her. Surprise, she is met by Zach instead. After a smoking 3 week affair before he was deployed these two were destined for each other but Zach didn't keep in touch. Now he is home, has been hurt, and may never be the same. Always the protector, when Sam is in jeopardy he steps up to save her and in the process he is saved too. This book was great no matter how many times I read/listen to it! Definitely one of my favorites from one of my favorite authors.
