What a ride! This was a dark romance with lots of angst, drama and twists. I liked that this book started when Alejandro was a teen so we get to see him before the darkness and what makes him who he is now. While it wasn't crazy dark, it was 50/50, it went from dark to romance and back again. Not normally my kind of story normally but I did enjoy this one for sure!

The narration was a hit and miss for me. I thought Marcio Catalano did a good job especially with the accent & language. Lauren Sweet is one of my least favorite narrators, but it's only her voice that doesn't work for me, she narrates great.

This is one of the best books I have listened to in a long time!! The narrator positively made it come to life!
Thank you, Thank You, Thank You M Robinson for not cutting this book into 4 cliffhangers!!!!
This story has Everything!! Twists turns, excitement ,sex, sex,sex, a fantastic group of characters, murder, love, a to die for alpha male and an ending you won't see coming ...
Just get the book!!

While I felt this story got off to a rocky start (the first few chapters) once I really got into it I couldn’t stop listening. I don’t know if it’s because this author is new to me or if I was just having trouble connecting with the characters but things definitely got better and I enjoyed the overall book.
This is the first book that I’ve listened to with these narrators but I found myself more than impressed with them.

This book is great, the twist and turn of characters and situations were believable and realistic, there wasn't a repetitive description of sex like most books do that gets in my nerves ( etc. "over & over", "again& again"). I couldn't put it down, the narrators were good except when one does the voice of an Italian resturaunt owner that's suppose to be a woman it sounds horrible but it doesn't last long but I had to seriously laugh, they should have made that character a man if using a man to change his voice to try and sound like a woman! I was surprised of how the time frame of years jumped of characters , you kind of had to assume and guess because years run together within the same chapter and didn't say 2 years later, or 10 years later, the story would run together then all the sudden say that was ten years later I didn't like there wasn't a separation, kind of like a run on sentence. overall it was a great book!

What a story! I’ve never read a story that pulled so many emotions out of me. Martinez made me upset often. The roller coaster ride Lexi was on was crazy. Love the plot twist. Very good story. The narrators performance was awesome.

I received this audio book free for an honest review. I have to start by saying that the first 21 chapters could have been condensed into probably 3 or 4 chapters. I was getting bored. I know the beginning was to set up the story, but it was a bit too much. When the book picked up, WOW. The author did an excellent job of writing this story. The suspense and thrill outweighs the romance, but when the romance comes into play, it is mind blowing. I'm not talking about the sex, I'm talking about the psyche of the two main characters. Good vs. Evil. However much the gorgeous Alejandro believes he is Evil, the beautiful, pure Lexi is attracted to him. The beginning has Alejandro's love mate as someone else. The beginning of the story threw me off a bit, I knew that the pair weren't really meant to be together, as I'm sure the writer wanted you to think. The deep spark just wasn't there. The narrators did a great job with the accent, the soft sexy voices, the different characters. In the end, I really enjoyed this book. Great Job.

this story was so intriguing I couldn't put it down without thinking about what was going next. thank God for Bluetooth so I even got to listen to it while riding the bike.
the male narrator hit it out of the park; the female does repeat herself a few times especially near the end but, she to did an awesome job.

Super Angsty and intense type of book? El Diablo is it! He is a major cartel leader and you will read about him from his childhood to adulthood. You will experience the good, the bad, and “a lot“ of ugly. You must suck it up on moments that made you cringe...to see why things are the way they are. To see the depth of his position in mafia...in his life. Yup, it’s a story for the unexpected and many thrills! One reviewer said, “Martinez is one of those characters you will hate to love and love to hate”. It sounds about right!
