About this listen

A skilled young man in a strange world is called upon to help expand the kingdom—but it's a path strewn with danger—in this fantasy adventure.

Living alone in the kingdom of Atal, former tech student Justin must explore his new home on his own and decide who's worthy of learning the kind of magic that comes so easily to him. In a land where magic equals power, the choice of who can be trusted to use mana productively is now his to make, a responsibility he doesn't take lightly.

Secretly, Justin (now known as Elian) is still learning the finer points of the manipulation of mana. As he experiments with the creation of coveted Earth items, even those that have little meaning in this place—iron, for example—he's called upon to make something his people truly need: weapons. And when the time comes, he'll pour himself into the creation of a weapon that could save lives, including his own, in a battle that will shake the foundations of his new world.

Polishing the skills he's learned and determining what might be beneficial to introduce to some trusted others, Justin grows into a man with his own credo and rapid-fire use of mana. A teacher and a valued asset in the expansion of the kingdom, he'll face unthinkable obstacles and heart-breaking betrayals before the fierce, unexpected clash that will call on every one of his skills before the last man has fallen.

The second volume of the hit progression-fantasy series—with almost 300,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

excellent continuation of the story

I have been feverishly listening to all 6 or 7 books and this did not disappoint. Following another character was done so well

Good but too short!

I enjoy this story, but these books are too short. Right on the edge of value/content. I look forward to more, but hope the author increases the length or reduces the price.

I am so incredibly angry

that I have to wait for the next book in the series to come out. This was such a great story.

Good, but too short.

Good continuation to the story. It's fast paced, but not in a bad way. Felt a little cheated with how short the book is though.

Brief but epic

Another incredible addition to the Mana universe. The nerd of me enjoys all the scientific magic development. Those that have enjoy Melody of Mana begin to see how Justin known to Alana came to be. Can’t wait for the next volume.

Why so short?

I have still 50% left but book seems good. However, the book is very short. Just a few hours of listening (1.3x). I am used to books of 10-24h. I thought the book just started and it’s almost over.

Good story continuation, good progress with ok action. Too short.

Good continuation.

Lot more battles which is good and bad as it makes limits of magic hard to figure out but it’s good.

Only complaint is the length. It’s half the length of the first book.

all around mid

Lazy plot development. lazy character development. predictable plot hooks. overall, there was just a huge amount of the author writing characters doing dumb stuff to force moral dilemma's and it all felt so contrived. in short, mid.
