Publisher's summary

If you want to increase what experts call the number one predictor of professional and personal success, then pay attention....

A report by Yale University pointed to a study showing that couples with higher levels of emotional intelligence had happier relationships.

And another study they pointed to showed that people with better scores on EQ tests had higher salaries and also received more promotions.

Which means you can get more professional and personal success without necessarily having a high IQ.

Here’s just a tiny fraction of what you’ll discover in this audiobook:

  • The five components of emotional intelligence and how to improve each of those
  • The truth about why emotional intelligence could be more important than IQ
  • The two things you must possess to be an effective leader and resolve conflict quickly
  • The first mistake people make that stops them from solving problems, and eight questions that will help you avoid this mistake
  • Why suppressing your emotions is a fatal mistake, and 17 better ways to control your emotions
  • How to finally free yourself from other people's opinions and judgment
  • Seven things you need to stop doing to yourself right now if you want to have high EQ
  • Six bulletproof strategies for managing other people’s emotions that will leave them feeling good about you
  • The six secret characteristics that will help you spot someone with a high EQ
  • A startling techinque that will help you to overcome negative thoughts without using affirmations
  • How to improve your social skills, and four simple ways to increase your charisma
  • And much, much more

Insightful

Required reading for my Emotional Intelligence class at the school of business. I wish more people would read this and work on increasing their EQ. Easy to understand and helpful.

Life Changing

Very good information, but at times hard to follow and a bit dull. Needed to 're-listen' to certain parts in order to absorb all of the information.

Makes On Think

The book was advertised as used and it is in perfect condition. I saw Steven Turner on Oprah and loved him, so I bought the book. The book is hard for me. I am still working on it.

Emotional Intelligence

Information in the audio book was good. The narrator was mind numbingly monotoned and could put a dead man further asleep. Though listen because of the narrator. I will avoid any other book narrated by him.

This book will change your life

I know that's the effect it had on me but becoming more aware of my lack of emotional intelligence has enabled me to finally confront my issues and get myself on the path of recovery and learning to empathize with others.

More than what I expected

This book has been around for a while but current MBA programs have begun focusing on emotional intelligence in the classroom. It is an amazing interesting concept that, when understood, can help with navigating organizations.

Value in Emotional Intelligence

Accurately and simply stated the importance of teaching how to handle emotions. Many just think life experiences will default the education, which it doesn't. Wish I read this book before my son became an adult.
