Jamie is at it again!
This series is full of humor, romance and mystery! Jamie Quinn this time has found herself involved with quite a few cases at once and as usual needs help from her trusty detective Duke. These two together just keep the smile on my face when they are together. There interactions are comical, and slightly romantic, though so far Jamie is sticking with her absentee boyfriend Kip.(Yes, I am pulling for Duke...but we shall see as it goes). There are a few elements in this story that kept it really intriguing. The divorce of Nan Glasser proves to be a much bigger case than Jamie is used to. I loved this part of the story, taking the case to take down the bad man. The introduction of League of Legends into the story through Adam is classic. My son has played for years and listening to Adam talk about the game was very reminiscent of my own conversations with my son! Made me smile ear to ear. And Skying Kip is a techie kind of fun that happens so much today. I love that Barbara integrates so many active concepts into her stories making them fresh and exciting. This is a great cozy and I look forward to more.
Fay Annette narrates this with a great variety of voices. Though not the same voice as the first 3, she carries the characters through a little slower than I am used to, but her ability to keep the voices consistent is admirable. I enjoyed her narration.

Great story!
I've always loved this author's books, and the Jamie Quinn books are some of my favorite cozy mysteries. I'm a little sad that she changed narrators for this book, as I always hear Martz whenever I read the ebooks. Fay Annette did a good job, and her base voice is very similar, but some of the character voices were different, and it messed with me. Sort of like watching a favorite movie dubbed over by different actors. All in all, I'm glad I listened to the story, and I am looking forward to more in this series.

Engaging cozy mystery
Loved it! I had forgotten how much I enjoyed reading or listening about Jamie Quinn's adventures. The narrator's voices were a hoot and added much to the story. I am eager to listen to the next one in this fun series. The ending on this one made me cry and laugh.

A Cozy Mystery
I chose to listen to this book after receiving a free copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.
I have listened to several of Barbara Venkataraman’s books including the Jamie Quinn mysteries. I like her sense of humor and enjoy listening to her books. Engaged in Danger was no exception although the narrator seemed to be really concentrating to get the different voices right, so she ended up just reading the story. The voices were easy to differentiate though.
The story flows well and there is more than one mystery to be solved. Jamie is working on two different mysteries at the same time and the way they twisted and were solved was interesting and unique.
Jamie’s boyfriend Kip isn’t in this book much. They’re still very much in love but he has to go out of the country for work. Duke is Jamie’s go to PI and is a good friend. I didn’t think I’d like him when he was introduced in the first book but he’s a good guy and a good friend.
I definitely recommend this book but I would have enjoyed it more if I’d read it rather than listened to it. It’s one of those books that leaves you with a good feeling. It is part of a series but does stand on its own.

Divorce can be dangerous
I think I read this book right after it was published, but when I won a copy of the audiobook I decided to go ahead a listen. I was so impressed with the way the narrator speaks for Jamie that it was like a whole different book. The narrator reads Jamie as I'm sure the author intends her to sound. she's kind of a smart aleck, kind of unsure of herself, wants to help others but usually trips on her own good deeds. Funny as all get out, loving, caring, loyal, etc. I like her.
With her boyfriend saving the wombats in Australia, Jamie signs on to help a woman get divorced from a tough, nasty, possibly mobbed up lawyer. While Jamie gets involved in the divorce case she is also trying to help her neighbors figure out why the wife's twin sister died.
This book is witty. The characters are quirky and funny or upstanding and serious. The mysteries are not run of the mill and there are no dead bodies to trip over which is always a welcome break. Whether you decide to read or listen to this book, I think you will enjoy it.

Just Keeps Getting Better and Better
I thoroughly enjoyed Engaged in Danger! This is book four in the Jamie Quinn Mystery series. The books just keep getting better! Jamie feels like a friend. When I got to the end of the book, I felt sad that I couldn’t spend more time in her company. She’s spunky, smart, and makes me laugh.
I appreciated the narrator of the first three books, thinking her interpretations were good with a bit of quirky thrown into the mix. However, I found the new narrator did an even better job.

Great Series!
This is the fourth book in the Jamie Quinn Cozy Mystery Series. This is another great addition to the series. I love this series! You have to listen to this series in order for a better enjoyment. The characters are great. Jamie is smart and determined. I like Kip, Duke, and Grace. The storyline is funny, intriguing and captivating, filled with twists and turns. The mystery unfolds at a great pace. Fay Annette did a fantastic job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Jeopardy in July.

Jamie Quinn is out of her depth
Jamie’s life seems to be finally on track, until she receives a high profile case, with more ramifications than she expected, while at the same time she is also helping her neighbor to find out the truth behind her sister’s death on a plane accident.
I enjoyed the first three books in this series, and this story is a longer one than what Venkataraman got us used too. It is far richer and more convoluted than her previous works, with more character development and twists that made the plot very interesting. Jamie Quinn is a likable character, easy to relate to, and this is one of the reasons why these books work so well. But my favorite character is Duke Broussard, unique PI with his permanent office in a speakeasy and a way with women.
This book is narrated by a different person than the previous volume, but Fay Annette’s style, strengths, and weaknesses are so similar to Carrie Lee Martz, that until I checked, I was convinced it was the same person. Her narration style was correct, but some of the interpretations were a bit stiff, and some male voices and foreign accents felt overdone. Broussard sounded excruciatingly slow, just like in the previous volume, and this was one of the aspects that made me believe it was again the same narrator.
It was an exciting ride, I’m looking forward to future adventures with Jamie Quinn and her friends.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
