About the story itself, I liked the idea of her needing to atone for her actions by providing the antidote. The original version that I had read before made it sound like she just had to prove herself to her mother-in-law before being allowed back into her husband’s presence, earning godship. They were already married and the mother-in-law was butting in. Much of this book is from Eros’ perspective. It makes a lot of sense that this all would come about because he pricked himself with his own hands. In the original, we only know that she is bargained for by a powerful person who chose to remain anonymous. The story is fleshed out a little bit. It ends too soon. There was not even an epilogue. There is a war going on and the story ends as soon as he and she come to an agreement. It’s a bit jarring. I really liked the scenes when Eros and Psyche are talking. It would make a great movie showing her alone (from her perspective) and (from his) with both of them together, as he struggles to keep his distance. But which side wins the war? What about the rest of her family?
The virtual voice was not as bad as I thought.
