About this listen
Rock star Brent Hunter has a plan to get back to the top of the charts - until his jet vanishes en route to London. Four months later, a phone call convinces Austin Hunter that his brother is alive and in hiding. That, or it's all an elaborate and deadly confidence game. Austin turns to private detective Kirk MacGregor to find the truth about his brother. As Kirk follows a trail of dead-end leads in the most perplexing investigation of his career, a strong attraction simmers between him and Austin, despite the fact they're both married. Together they unearth a tragic family history of violence, pure greed, and a 30-year-old fratricide as they take on the coldest killer since Hannibal Lecter. But deadly foes have nothing on the painful truths and even more painful losses Kirk and Austin must face... and none of that compares to confronting what they feel for each other.

Living in a year around Christmas town has its drawbacks. The caroling, the decorations, the insanely cheery spirit, it never disappears. It's why I like to hibernate away in my cave - I mean housekeeping a healthy distance from the holly jolly spirits. And all was going according to plan until my nemesis, Storee Taylor, moved in next door to care for her Aunt Cindy. Without blinking, she turned my simple world into a real nightmare-before-Christmas, especially when she decided to enter the town Christmas Kringle contest - which she was determined to win.

Noir Realism at Its Best!
If you could sum up Errors and Omissions in three words, what would they be?
A fabulous listen.
What did you like best about this story?
I enjoyed the twisting plot and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat; I stayed up all night listening to this M/M mystery-thriller because I could not put it down. The characters are complex and likable. There's humor, lies, greed and celebrity. The killer's POV is chilling. Finally, Lee James has a noir writing style that's reminiscent of Raymond Chandler.
What about Brian Rollins’s performance did you like?
I've listened to this narrator in the past. His range of voices is phenomenal, and even without tag lines, you always know which character is speaking.
If you could rename Errors and Omissions, what would you call it?

A thriller wth MM romance
Any additional comments?
I like my romance novels to have more relationship development than Errors and Omissions gave me. And although I did not guess the identity of the `bad guy' until the bitter end (quite a feat for a mystery lover like me), the book did not grip me on an emotional level like I hoped. And the romantic in me felt too much of the novel . All in all its an ok audiobook

Masterful thriller
Would you consider the audio edition of Errors and Omissions to be better than the print version?
I loved the print version, but the audiobook is far more immediate.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked that although there is a romance story, the thriller is the main force of the novel.
Which character – as performed by Brian Rollins – was your favorite?
Austin, definitely. He really brought to life the Texan musician, so much so he feels like a guy I know.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
[SPOILER]
When Austin played for Jace, just before the funeral.
Any additional comments?
This is a mystery, with thriller sensibilities, that hails from California -- it has that sunburnt and chrome-gleaming feel through-out. There are a lot of sunglasses, fast cars, beautiful Beverly Hills locations and so much sunshine.
There's also plenty of wry and sarcastic humor, a fact with humanizes our hero and makes for several laugh-out-loud moments. As an example: "Avery should be a travel agent for guilt trips".
The mystery itself takes quite a few twists and turns, starting with a dead man's missing time and ending with a serial killer.
While some of the action can be rough and heart-pounding, it never descended into the realms of the gory splatter-fests you might find in other mainstream novels.
Highly recommended.

Which character – as performed by Brian Rollins – was your favorite?
Kirk was my favorite. I really enjoyed the amount of emotion that Mr. Rollins was able to express in his narration. Mr. Rollins gave all of their characters their own unique voice, tempo and inflections. This is the second book by Mr. Rollins that I have listened to and I look forward to more of his work.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
During the final 'showdown' I was shocked and then saddened to the point of some tears. I didn't realized how attached I was to some of these characters.
Any additional comments?
Errors and Omissions is the story of a rock star who disappears and his brother who wants to find out what happened. Austin Hunter (and his mother) hire Kirk MacGregor to find out what happened to his brother in the final week before his disappearance. Mr. James' book is good. I liked the majority of the story with one exception. I thought that the ending of the mystery came a little out of left field. I say this because one of the biggest clues was mentioned just once in the story and in a way that is sort of 'if you blinked, you missed it'. The mystery was still pretty solid. I thought Kirk's relationship with his father was nice. I enjoyed the fact that a parent was accepting of their child and it didn't get bewteen them.I would recommend this book to my friends who are open minded about M/M relationships and also enjoy a mystery. I look forward to reading more of Mr. James' work.

A Sinuos Mystry-thriller
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, the characters, twisting plot and the conclusion that you won't see coming make the novel a must read.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The main characters Kirk and Austin are fully developed, colorful and realistic.
What about Brian Rollins’s performance did you like?
His range of voices.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
You won't see it coming.
Any additional comments?
This is an M/M mystery thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

A Tense Thrill Ride
Would you listen to Errors and Omissions again? Why?
Yes. I found the narration engaging and powerful. I plan on listening again to catch any clues I missed along the way. This a fantastic thriller that was entertaining as well and suspenseful.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Errors and Omissions?
The final showdown. It was tense, descriptive, and gut-wrenching. Way to get our emotions caught up in the characters!
Which character – as performed by Brian Rollins – was your favorite?
All of them. But if I had to pick one, the main characters, Kirk and Austin were top-notch. I plan on getting other books narrated by Mr. Rollins shortly.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were several, but to name them would be to spoil the book. Let's just say Austin is a complex and deep character that nearly brought me to tears.
Any additional comments?
Fantastic. I hope Mr. James puts more books up on Audible. Thankfully, Mr. Rollins has a wide variety of audiobooks and I plan on consuming them all. What a great talent and superb voice.

Lazy and cheap
The positive reviews must be paid or were completed at a click farm as this was horrible. The story could be great but reduced to fluff and the narrator remained in the missionary position whilst dreaming of a ... d grade movie. I’ve had my money refunded.

Not my cup of tea
To me this book was far too predictable and not in a good way. I pretty much figured Jace was a goner when Austin and Kirk met and sparks flew. Then when they introduced the Stan character I knew he was a goner too so that Austin and Kirk could get together.
The mystery had its good moments.
I think this book would've been more enjoyable if the author had used some subtlety. The characters were just that, characters they had no depth.
That being said I admire any author who puts themselves out there and takes a chance.
