Eve in Exile sets aside all stereotypes of mid-century housewives, of China-doll femininity, of Victorians fainting, of women not allowed to think for themselves or talk to the men about anything interesting or important. It dismisses the pencil-skirted and stiletto-heeled executives of TV, the outspoken feminists freed from all that hinders them, the brave career women in charge of their own destinies. Once those fictionalized stereotypes are out of the way - whether they're things that make you gag or things you think look pretty fun - Christians can focus on real women. This book not only taught me about feminism, but also inspired me to step up and do my part in this world. It also encouraged me to remember that the tasks I do on a daily basis are glorious tasks. This was an insightful book to read about the history of feminism and where a lot of damage was done to our culture early on, and at the hands of women. It was also eye-opening to have a fresh perspective on the roles of women through God’s eyes and design. It was clear and concise, and will challenge your thinking if you already have opinions made about feminism and that world view. I enjoyed the author’s performance and would recommend to every woman, especially those who long to honor the Lord in their God-given roles as females. I also appreciated the remark of the absolute absurdity of Bruce Jenner being named “woman of the year” — what a tragic slap in the face to all women that a MAN would
be given that honor. And women everywhere are cheering it on. This book was a wake up call to actual true femininity! Thank you for writing it, Rebecca!!

I would recommend this book for any woman in any stage of life- and especially to moms with children at home. There are so many amazing takeaways - but one of the most profound I think is the solemn call to arms for women to pursue diligent, hard work, with a spirit of excellence - not so much in the workforce- but in the area of stewarding our family and home. It’s so intelligently and thoughtfully written, it truly inspired me to take mothering and homemaking to the next level- because it is so vitally important and of eternal value.
