About this listen

From the #1 Bestselling Author of Don't Call Me Jupiter comes Evergreen Lodge: A Memoir, a hilarious and relatable coming-of-age story that will have you laughing out loud and reminiscing about your teenage years. If you enjoy comedy writers like David Sedaris, Jenny Lawson & Seth Rogan, you won't want to miss this one.

Remember when your friends were everything and a new song was enough to blow your mind? Take a fabulous flashback trip to the late 70s with a group of teens working at a semi-dysfunctional family-owned lodge near Yosemite National Park. Relive an era in which you were in search of yourself as much as the next party. You'll go skinny dipping at midnight, disco dance under the stars, play pranks on your friends, and beer-bong your way down the Merced River. Some are running away from their regular lives, others are victims of their own runaway hormones. Join the staff at this picturesque resort as they care for and occasionally abuse their customers and keep an eye out for bears!

Just the way the author relays the story in both writing and verbally

His description of events are very descriptive and puts you in the authors shoes. I enjoyed it very much.

What a riotous journey!

What a riotous journey! I was immediately jealous reading about the summer escapades of Tom, a teenage boy working at Yosemite's Evergreen Lodge. This candid memoir brims with the kind of humor only adolescents can master, packed with an array of potty jokes and bathroom humor that are as vulgar as they are uproarious.

The author vividly recounts his experiences, blending the majestic backdrop of Yosemite with a summer filled with mischief, friendship, and adolescent awkwardness. Playful and irreverent, much of the time, it captured the essence of teenage boyhood in all its crude glory. Amidst the chaos and comedy, the author also experiences a touching realization about friendship.

While the humor may be a bit too raw for some, it perfectly encapsulates the unfiltered reality of teenage life. "Evergreen Lodge" is an entertaining and nostalgic read, offering a hilarious and heartfelt glimpse into the chaotic and comical world of adolescence.

Suggested as "like David Sedaris"...NOPE!

Could not even finish...poorly written and uninteresting AND offensive. Even the offensive parts were not interesting.
