The Promised Land Has a Vermin Problem....
Once before, the sentient races in the known part of the galaxy had united against alien invaders. Decades have since passed, and new generations have grown complacent...dangerously so.
Long ago, much of the population of an entire planet fled their world before its sun went nova in thousands of ships, each one larger than a city. Now, the armada has arrived at the world they intend to make their new home. They regard the fact that the planet is already colonized by humans as a mere inconvenience, and their mode of communication is so different from anything humans use that they do not consider humans and their allies to be truly intelligent.
This time, the races of the old alliance will not have to worry about becoming an invader's meal - but that will be small comfort if these new invaders decide that genocide is justified for their own survival....

Any additional comments?
First, I would like to say I love the universe Steve White and David Weber created. I have enjoyed their books for over a decade, rereading them numerous times. One day, I plan to branch out of the Horror Genre I write in and do a Space scifi book/series.Just a new story in this universe is awesome. I liked seeing some of the old (but aged) characters and the rebirth was pretty cool too. I can say I do miss Steve White's influence, but not to the point that it ruined the story.
The one thing that kind of irritated me was the descriptions and emotional states of the new aliens. I understand trying to make them alien, but sometimes, it was just wasted words that I cared nothing for, or were slightly confusing when, evidently, I should have understood what they meant (maybe I'm just dumb :)
Overall, though, pretty decent hook. Going to continue to follow the new series.
Pretty good story in a universe I love

These bald, golden, tentacled psychopaths are intensely boring. I find myself wanting to skip through any of their narratives. Mainly, I stuck around for the space battles.
The narrator, Marc Vietor, saves this book from being dreck.
Lame enemies

What did you like best about Exodus? What did you like least?
Narrator was very good, made a so so story interesting.Story itself had too many gaps, almost as if the authors forgot the original story line or perhaps it was just too inconvenient to carry the story forward.
Was Exodus worth the listening time?
Not really... If this was the first book in the series, this would have been the last I listened to.Authors must have been tired of the original plot

This series started out great. This book was just lame.
I don't know what happened, but the author seemed to
just make a sharp left turn. Story -- Boring and Bad.
I was going to get the next in the series until I read
the reviews, and they make sound even worse than
this book #5.
For me, no more of this series

the latter 4 books at least start off with decent characters but as time goes on less interesting ones are introduced and their motivations are not explored. The writing just feels mechanical, like it was written by the third string for a cash grab.
The narrator however does a superb job that I can't fault and is really the only thing that carries this and the subsequent 3 books. The story certainly doesn't do much to help him.
Lacking
