Publisher's summary

Everyone needs help occasionally - even supers with amazing powers - and Jim (aka Kid Sensation) is no exception. Having previously received aid from a young psychic named Rudi, Jim feels obligated to return to the favor and rescue her from the federal facility where she's being held.

But breaking into a top-secret, heavily-fortified government installation is never a walk in the park, especially when said installation has top-of-the-line security systems, trigger-happy guards, and its own team of formidable supers. It will take a bold and audacious plan to get Jim - and the friends who volunteer to help him - inside.

Unfortunately, breaking in is only half the problem (and the easy half, at that); they also have to break back out...

Kid seems to fulfill a promise!

Extraction by Kevin Hardman and narrated by Mikael Naramore is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. This is a short book but a necessary one because Kid Sensation made a promise to help rescue a 10 year old psychic and her brother from evil supers. This is that story. Very creative and action packed as all his wonderful Kid Sensation books are! Love all the well developed characters and world settings in these books! Amazing!
Mikael Naramore is an excellent narrator and performs the voices flawlessly!

An Action Packed Short Story

In this book, Kevin Hardman concludes a story that he introduced in a previous book (Mutation - Kid Sensation #2) which had yet to be resolved. This entertaining superhero story has plenty of action, enjoyable characters and an exciting plot. Mikael Naramore's narration does a terrific job of bringing the characters to life. I was provided a free review copy of this audio book and am voluntarily leaving this review.

Go Kid Sensation💛

Extraction is a great short story in the kid sensation series. It tidied up a loose end in relation to perifery characters from the second book and also managed to leave a rather interesting answered question too (damn it). Love the narrator, love the vivid descriptive writing, all and all a very enjoyable listen.
I was given this audiobook for free and I freely give my opinion and rating

Great little Novella

Full disclosure: I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Extraction is an excellent little novella set in the Kid Sensation universe, featuring the main hero of the series. I enjoyed this book and the narrator did an excellent job adding to the experience.

It gives us a nice short story to tide us over between books 2 and 3, features some of our favorite characters - Jim, Electra, and Smokie. It is a good read, even if you read it after having read book 3.

Naramore is a great narrator and Hardman knows how to tell a great kids story.

Sensation, book 2.5

Whoot, we finally get to see the Kid keep a promise that he made a loooong time ago early on in the series. It was most satisfying to finally see this cometo fruition, it was one I had been hoping to see, and since I have run through the entire KS series this was an excellent cherry on the top. This recalls events that comes early on in the series, so you might not want to read in until after the first two books just to be safe. You can read it as a stand alone, it works quite well as that in fact, but if you want to dive into the whole series (something I very much suggest that you do) then you want to wait just a little while. Hardman really keeps this fast paced, as it is a short story, and lets you see the Kid do some real thinking and planning before he pulls his job. You have to remember that his powers standout, and if he uses them he will be recognized, and this is a very covert op. So, he basically has to figure out how to save someone without using all of his abilities so that he isn't recognized. This makes for a smart fast paced series of events that all occur on a specific timeline. Can the Kid keep his promise?

Hardman really has nailed down the way to write a superhero story, and he keeps turning in some winning storylines. He really needs to option this as a film, it would rock anything DC made, and give Marvel a run for its money. Master narrator Mikael Naramore is all in, as he has been with this series since the beginning, his professional skills are par excellence and need no more to be said other than his work is always top shelf. Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

A terrific short superhero adventure

Extraction is a terrific superhero adventure that proves you can have a great standalone story without needing it to be super long. The audio book, which is just over an hour long, is truly super with a good narrator, an exciting plot, and interesting characters. This fits into the Kid Sensation series, so if you are reading or listening to the other books, you'll enjoy it more, but it works fine as a standalone. Appropriate and fun for YA and adult listers- this is perfect for a short road trip.

I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

short but good

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Like with the rest of the series, this is a well executed super hero story. It is an inbetween book, released after the book it comes before, which I found odd, but that's neither here nor there. All in all, if you like super hero stories, and want a quick dose of the Kid Sensation world, this is worth checking out.

A helping hand extended, when needed

This is a promise kept, helping the young seer, Rudi, and her brother to escape from captivity, after their aid to Jim (Kid Sensation) in the previous episodes.
It takes Jim and his two offsiders, plus the help of Rudi and a muscle bound Supa, who turns out to be a friend and not a foe, as one would think.
As usual, the narrator adds enhancement to already dramatic tale.
