About this listen

When his pursuit of happiness in Corporate America feels counterproductive, Timber Hawkeye escapes the fluorescent-lit hell of his cubicle in Seattle and sets out to fully embrace the stress-free lifestyle of Hawaii. Intrigued and curious about what people believe (and why they believe what they do), he questions everything he ever thought was true and discovers the beauty of letting go.

If you consider yourself spiritual but not religious, then you're going to love this inspirational book. And if you want to lead a simple and uncomplicated life with happiness at your fingertips, then you'll want to hear this pause-resister more than once!

"It's not that I'm against religion; I simply don't have one (nor do I believe that we need it to be ethical). My faith is doctrine-free, with a definition of God that doesn't conjure a white man in the sky who dispenses blessings for good behavior and harsh judgments to condemn the bad. That's because I don't believe God does that; religion does. You see, faith is a spiritual practice of continually letting go of certainty, of ego, and of the underlying need to know, while religion is a ceremonial tradition of hanging on, clinging to concrete dogmas, stubborn rigidity, and ageless ritual."

Discover the difference between feelings and emotions, the disparity between truths and facts, and the countless benefits of mindful living.

An amazing journey!

The greatest gift you can give yourself is letting go of the things that hold you back.
The wisdom and insight found inside Faithfully Religionless is powerful yet simple enough to embrace. The whole book feels as if Timber Hawkeye is speaking to you as a mentor and as a friend. After reading it I realized that I need to let go and there are many things I need to unlearn.
The flow of this book makes it a quick read if you have a day to enjoy it. Though it is one you'll be want to read over and over again savoring it. Each time you will still learn something new.

Freedom

At 13 I was told by some spoiled, impudent school girls that I was fat and ugly. At fourteen I was told again, this time by some malicious, malevolent teenagers, same things...that I was fat, gross and ugly. I lost weight, those students had nothing to say, but I still heard those words, because now I was saying them. At eighteen, I was in an emotionally abusive relationship with a man who was 8 years older than me. He told me I was worthless. He cheated blatantly, he even had a sixth month affair with my foster sister. I was never good enough, but no matter how many times I cried after he left me, I ran back as soon as he called. I felt ashamed and worthless. Long after it ended, I carried the shame and worthlessness with me in the same suitcase as the one that held fat, ugly, and gross. I am 45 now and those people are long gone from my life, but the story they told me became my truth. I no longer heard their voices, it was my own voice telling me the story. You are fat. You are gross, You are ugly. You are worthless. Logically, I know I am none of those things, but I have told myself that story for 25 years that is who I believe I am in my heart.
I named this review Freedom because it all made sense. All of the concepts resonated with the parts of my soul that needed someone to say the right thing that would be the key to set me free. This book set me free. I took pages of notes and finished this book in one day.(I stayed up all night listening). I will listen to it monthly to remind myself of all of the concepts and ideas that brought me to this place of freedom and peace. In 25 years no one has ever told me the story was told and then repeated to myself over my lifetime, was false, untrue. Well, it was and now I can let it go and begin a new story a choose to be happy. Because happiness is a choice. 😁 Thank you Timber Hawkeye

Another great read from timber

Lots of good reminders and things to take away and use in your daily life here. This is a good follow-up to Buddhist boot camp..

There is so much to gain from this book that reading it once is not enough

There was nothing that I disliked. I enjoyed all of it and will reread it again and again. There is so many things to grasp that one read isn't enough.

Insight delivered with charm

Timber Hawkeye tells his story with truth galore; and those truths became true for me too.
His wisdom is easily applied to the everyday events we encounter

FOR EVERY HUMAN ON THIS EARTH

I have BPD and have been struggling for years with my emotions. I have lived in my car for 3 years now yet I have $30k in my storage unit that I refuse to spend in fear of buying the wrong home or in the climate that doesn't help with my physical/mental limitations. If this was the 80s, this is the tape you'd want stuck in your stereo. And if you try to write down anything that pertains or resonates with you, you'll just end up writing out the entire book. Its that good. This is such an overload of perfect information I strongly suggest pausing every so often to ponder on what's been said and relate it to specific situations. Just a memory retention trick I've been doing lately. Thank you so so much. Stay beautiful

Most meaningful, helpful book ever.

This expresses everything that I couldn't even identify in myself. Absorb his words to love yourself and your life.

Knew I'd love it.

I cried some, as it hit many cords with changes I need to make within. I have had the pleasure of hearing him speak at a reading and just love the message. I will listen to this many times.
