Publisher's summary

It all started with the bereavement flowers with my name on them.

Not the best way to wake up, right? I work in a flower shop. I know a funeral arrangement when I see one.

I know a killer when I see one, too. And one is standing in my hospital room right now, straight behind the man who saved my life.

I can’t tell anyone the truth, because that’s the fastest way to really die. So I do the next best thing. I “lose” my memory.

I fake my amnesia.

Pretending not to remember a brutal attempted murder has its perks. The killer is backing down, spending less time around me, loosening the noose.

The less I claim to recall, the more my rescuer, Duff, works to help me “remember”. I hate lying to him.

But he doesn’t understand that my memory is dangerous. To me. And to him.

Fooling everyone isn’t easy. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

Except it’s starting to look like I’ve been fooling myself.

In more ways than one.

Read Book 1 in the newest series from USA Today best-selling author Meli Raine.

“...intrigue and dark humor on display in this thriller....”

While the immediate - and more compelling - tension in Raine’s (A Shameless Little Bet, 2018, etc.) heart-pumping series opener comes from Lily’s constant proximity to her would-be killer, the action takes place against a backdrop of secret government scandals.

Fortunately, Lily’s voice is captivating, wry, and tough enough to sell this thriller. The novel ends with a cliffhanger that startles, if only because readers will have become so attached to Lily. (Kirkus Reviews)

Praise for Meli Raine’s books:

“Fresh, riveting, and thrumming with emotion and romantic suspense, False Memory is absolutely unputdownable. You need this book!” (New York Times best-selling author Meghan March)

“I accidentally lost a day to this trilogy! It is unputdownable. Apparently I'm on a dark-and-twisty binge, and this book is addictive.” (USA Today best-selling author Sarina Bowen (Harmless series)

Meli did will by choosing Andi and Sebastian. GREA

I hate series. I don't understand why authors do this. This series I love. I would be happy to see Meli would continue writing like the old soap operas of the 70's.

A great suspense continuation series

This very intriguing political story is carried thru on several trilogies. Lily’s story is turning out to be just as exciting as Lindsay & Jane’s were. Can’t wait to read/listen to more to see who’s pulling the strings now. Great narration by Andi Arndt.

False memory

Cliff hanger ending always upsets me, but the story so far is interesting. I hope I get to read more.

Suspenseful and mysterious!

I went into this book completely blind. I hadn't read Meli Raine before and had no idea what I would be getting myself into with book 1 from this trilogy.

While there was barely any romance to speak of in this book, I didn't mind at all! The story was so captivating that I hardly noticed it was more of a suspenseful thriller than a romantic suspense book.

I truly enjoyed Lily's character. She'd been through so much and was determined to come out on the other side stronger than ever. The fact that the "who done it" was revealed pretty early on in the story didn't take away any of the fear or suspense. If anything, it added to it. It became so much of a mind game for all involved.

Duff was a coin flip for me in the beginning. At times I wanted to trust him, other times I felt like he might be working for the enemy. As the story progressed, his true intentions and feelings for Lily became more clear. I came to really enjoy their interactions and wanted more trust and honesty shared between them. Duff became someone that Lily could rely on, when she really needed it most.

I can't wait to dive into the next book in this series and I'm so excited it's going to be from Duff's perspective.

Narration: Andi Arndt did an incredible job portraying Lily's character. Her ability to voice the struggles that Lily was experiencing regaining her body functions, speech especially was completely believable. Andi was the perfect choice to bring this character to life. I also enjoyed her narration of the male side characters in the story.

I was provided an audiobook of this novel for review by the author.

Keeps you guessing

This is the beginning of a trilogy that will keep you on your toes guessing who done it and who can you trust. I enjoy this authors series and even though this is a cliffhanger I highly recommend it.

Lili wakes up in the hospital or does she? She was shot but by who and why? Is her protector the person trying to kill her or was she the target at all? This is a great beginning and I am on to the next to see what happens with Lili and Duff and to try to figure out who done it.

Andi Arndt is amazing as always. Loved listening to her.

I am loving this series and recommend it.

Suspenseful and Emotional

I really enjoyed this book. It is very suspenseful and deeply emotional. The author really took their time with this book. They really got inside the head of the main characters and lived there.

The narrator is a wonderful actress and she successfully conveys the raw emotion and suspense of the story.

Great start to a thrilling series!

This story absolutely sucked me in from the beginning! I can’t wait to see what happens next. I’m still not sure who I like and don’t like or know who should be trusted. Exactly how a series should be! Lost of twists, and a good storyline.
