It’s a pretty good story except for two things. One is Hill learning that Darcy and Bingley had visited Hertfordshire later in the book. That and the fact that the Colonel was on the continent fighting while hunting Wickham made me question the timeline of the book. Second is Darcy stuck at Pemberley dealing with things like poor tools. Doesn’t quite seem right with an estate like Pemberley. Where’s the steward at?

Two things bug me.

I realized I had read the book while listening to the last chapters. It is an interesting story that wasn’t helped by the the virtual voice. I think it could have been shortened here and there to gain a tighter narrative. I zoned out a couple of times while listening to it. Most of the LCdB interactions, while surprising, didn’t really add anything, same with the Matlocks. I loved how original it was. I greatly appreciate reading or listening to a variation where the author is brave enough to color outside the lines.
