Publisher's summary

Wizards are being murdered. Picked off and torn to shreds. It’s up to a hexed detective to crack the case.

Detective Rita Hobbes has been cursed; erased from everyday reality and cast adrift in a world of magic and monsters. To the workaday world, Rita is a forgotten memory, which raises the question, what will she do with the rest of her life now?

It’s only when the savaged body of a dead wizard is wheeled into the local morgue that Rita gets the answer to her question. She’s going to do what she always does. She’s going to be a detective.

The Council of Wizards is terrified, innocent people are being transformed into monstrous beasts, and all clues point to a mysterious visitor with a bad habit of sinking her teeth into people.

A werewolf with a century-long grudge is stalking the streets of Blackpool, a werewolf with magic so powerful she can affect the phases of the night sky. Can Rita bring the werewolf to justice and put an end to her vengeance, or will every night from this day forward be a fatal moon?

Listen to Fatal Moon and enter a magical, pause-resisting urban fantasy you cannot put down. Like Neil Gaiman? Then you’ll love Fatal Moon.

Another brilliant Uncanny gem...

Some truths are undeniable. One such truth is that the two authors who write the Uncanny Kingdom books will never let you down. If urban fantasy appeals to you at all, you should try one of their series set in the Uncanny Kingdom. They are all brilliant, full of action, loaded with unique and unforgettable characters, and are delightfully seasoned with snarky British humor that makes you laugh out loud. Fatal Moon, the second book of the Hexed Detective series, is no exception. While I do not believe you would be lost if you started with this story, to fully savor the nuances of the characters development and their relationships with one another, I would recommend reading Hexed Detective first. Rita Hobbs, having been hexed in the first book, is still invisible to the mundane (non-magical) world but is learning her way around the Uncanny (magical) community with all its zany inhabitants and insane disregard for basic physics. Always the detective, she is drawn into a murder investigation which requires her rapid introduction to the finer points of lycanthropy. Murder, madness, mayhem and even exorcism are now components of Rita’s typical workday. Can she stop the master werewolf from killing off all of Blackpool’s wizards? Can she find a way to nullify the hex that renders her invisible? Will her magic axe help her fight an evil angel? I am certainly looking forward to finding out what the authors have in store for Rita in the next story. My recommendation: clear a bit of time in your schedule to relax and enjoy this brilliant gem of urban fantasy.

If you choose to listen to the audiobook, be advised that the narrator, Millie Jones, is the perfect choice for Rita Hobbs and she does a fantastic job with all the other characters, as well. Her performance brings the story and the characters to life and enhances the overall enjoyment of the book.

While I did purchase a copy of this book, I was provided with the audiobook version by the authors and I am voluntarily offering my honest and unbiased review.

Fatal Moon

This is a fantastic read. This is fast paced and action packed. A great Detective read and Rita is on the case. There are twists and turns everywhere. I love these type of reads there like putting a puzzle together. The Narrator does a Fantastic job at bringing out the different voices. I definitely recommend.

Amazing, As Usual!

I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this book and in fact the entire Uncanny Kingdim series are. I have only two more books left, but when I finish those I'll go back and listen to them all from the beginning!

I did get this book for free for leaving an honest review. I had already read the first book in the series and loved it. So I was really happy to get this one. Love it. Now I am going to have to buy book 3. Looking forward to it.
