The story begins on a cold October Sunday when a young boy shoots his priest during Mass. The mother of the accused enlists Michael Angellini, a newly retired NYC homicide detective. Angellini, now working on his first case as a private investigator, is doubtful he can prove a negative, especially since both people involved are dead. Angellini is in a crisis of his own. He’s recently moved his wife in the advanced stages of MS back upstate to be closer to family.
To complicate things further, Angellini met a woman, Rose Parker, that fateful Sunday, and there's an immediate attraction between them. Angellini struggles with his love and loyalty to his wife and these new feelings for another woman. The investigation takes him into a world that questions his faith in religion and in himself. A tale of murder, deceit, conspiracy, and greed, and a bit of a love story.

Tony Cerminaro gives each character such a unique voice and his ability to weave the emotional journey of his main character, Mike Angelini, into the gripping plot is truly masterful.
Mark Garkusha did a great job bringing the characters to life. The first person narration by Mike made it feel like you were really going along with him on his investigation.
Again, if you like true crime docs and are looking for some great crime fiction, give this one a listen!
A layered and emotional mystery
