Publisher's summary

Two years after the death of his wife, Aubrey Hendricks is still weighed down by grief. He can’t focus on anything beyond working at the family farm, First Light. At the urging of a friend, he takes a step toward resuming a normal life and reopens the bakery his wife once ran. He places a help-wanted ad in the local paper, and to his surprise, an applicant shows up the next day.

When Oliver Hansen gets a second chance at life, he grasps it with both hands. Leaving his stressful life in New York, he plans to enjoy the simpler things. Driving to Heartsville in the Pocono Mountains to thank his heart donor’s widower is a top priority. But the brusque man with the melancholy eyes strikes a chord in Oliver. So when Aubrey mistakenly believes he’s there to apply for the bakery job…Oliver takes him up on the offer.

As Oliver busies himself with the grand reopening, he and Aubrey establish a tentative friendship, which soon shifts to blazing attraction. Oliver falls hard for him, yet he can’t help but wonder if Aubrey’s feelings are an attempt to maintain a connection to the wife he’s still mourning. And Aubrey is unsure if Oliver will tire of the slow pace in Heartsville and go running back to the city he loves. The two must successfully navigate the stormy waters of grief, doubt, and their very different lifestyles, or they risk losing both their hearts - again.

*Please note: this is in the same world as our mmm, Last Call, except first light is mm and a complete stand-alone.

Wonderful

I first read this in e-book and just fell in love with Aubrey and Oliver. When I saw this would be coming out in audio, I was thrilled. I was ecstatic to see it would be dual narrated by two of my favorite narrators. Kale and Michael brought Aubrey and Oliver to life for me. Their reading was so much more emotional than when I read the book myself. When these two women team up to write a book the result is nothing short of wonderful. This story was sweet and sexy and I didn’t want to put it down. I loved Oliver’s patience with Aubrey as he navigated the changes that Oliver’s presence in Heartsville brought. Their building chemistry within the story really drew me in. I could really feel the love between Oliver and Aubrey. Their story was amazing and I’d love to read more books from the characters in Heartsville.

This is an Audible book you can't pass up.

This is a sweet wonderful story . This relationship, the way it started out and it's growth was so well written. The two narrator's did a wonderful job and really go well together. I know that this will be a book I listen to more than once.

A Very Sweet Love Story

This was a very sweet story with a lot of heart and depth. I really loved the connection Oliver and Aubrey shared, not the connection of Lisa’s heart which yes was what brought Oliver to Aubrey’s farm, but the connection between them as individuals. On first glance it would seem that they wouldn’t have much in common but they seemed to fit so well. There wasn’t a lot of angst which was good, just a touching love story which also had some sultry love scenes. I have to admit I wasn’t much a fan of Oliver’s sister or Lisa’s extended family but all the other characters who worked in the farm and were around town were great. Really great narration as well.

First Light

I enjoyed this second book in the series as much as I did the first. The narration was wonderful, as usual!

All Heart

What an emotional tale of second chances, new beginnings and healing. The story is complex, MCs being put on different juxtaposition, but ultimately both found love within each other.

There’s a mystical feel to the story, it’s underlying. Did Oliver went to meet Aubrey just to thank him..? Or was that “Lisa” coming home? There were several heartfelt moments that made me think.. it’s Lisa, just in Oliver now. And I don’t know how to feel about that..

The narrators in this book are the best! Kale & Michael hit it just right for both Oliver and Audrey.

Some what disappointed in the narrators collaboration

I love love the story line. Just like the previous book I finished it within hours. I stayed up just to finished the book. Felice never fails on delivering love. I really enjoyed listening to this book collaborated by FS and CL.
I am however, somewhat disappointed in the narrators. Their collaboration should have been better reading lines of the main characters. But instead by both read each their own chapter. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed both Kale and Michael’s voices but I thought it would be cool if they interacted to the main characters role.

Loved it

I loved the dual narration of the story. They truly brought Oliver and Aubrey to life, including all the other side characters. They kept me engaged and eager to listen

We meet Oliver when he shows up to meet up with a stranger named Aubrey to share his news. Unbeknownst to himself he finds himself a job working for the man running a bakery. Oliver is taking life by the chain and making some changes in his life and living his life to his fullest.

Aubrey is still in mourning over his deceased wife. He’s lonely and grumpy. When Oliver comes to town interest sparks.

It was lovely seeing these two work out their problems and realize how in love with each other are and can bring life to them both and mend some hearts. They are simply the sweetest together. I loved this book. The setting and this guys.

Live life to your fullest and love hard. Read the book because well it’s flipping good but because love conquers all
