About this listen

Something fishy is going on at a local seafood processing plant, and Charlie Cooke is on the hook to solve the case in this new Alaskan Diner Mystery.

Summer has come to Elkview, Alaska, bringing 20 hours of sunlight every day, not to mention a surge of tourists and seasonal workers. Chef Charlie Cooke is eager for a busy yet relaxing season, but when a young man working a summer job at the local fish processing plant dies moments after walking into the Bear Claw Diner, she is quickly swept into the investigation.

Soon, through her best friend Annie Jensen, Charlie learns that another student worker at J and M Processing has disappeared, leaving more questions and fewer answers. The nearly endless sunlight gives plenty of time to search for clues, but Charlie will have to work with Annie and local reporter Chris Doucette to net the killer before anyone else gets hurt.

Loved it

Just finished the second book in the series, and I loved it. Sent both copies to my daughters as gifts. As a former long time resident of Alaska it brought back a lot of fantastic memories. I’m excited , about listening to more of this series. I hope she continues. I love having a book that Makes me feel like I’m coming home.

too much internal dialogue

I really liked the first book. I was sure that I'd like this one. it started off good, but halfway through I was having trouble keeping my attention on the mystery. the MC would give soooo many details about everything and I couldn't remember much about the actual plot of the story. I feel like the murder took a backseat to the day to day life of the MC and I found that boring and unnecessary. the MC would provide so much internal dialogue about things that didn't seem important to the plot at all. I couldn't finish it :(

Pretty good

I didn't really like the first book and I thought the pace of this book was a little slow at times. However, I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book in this series.

Alaska, a Cat, good Food and a Murder

Sounds like an interesting mix. There were many times I wish I was there. The narrator made the activities sound fun, even the hunting for the murderer. The time in the restaurant....wish we had one like that here! And you can never go wrong with a lovable cat. The narrator was able to bring the author's character's to life. Now I do want to go to Alaska!
