About this listen

Can you keep a secret?

I grew up sick.⁣ Let me clarify: I grew up believing that real love stories include a martyr or demand great sacrifice to be worthy.⁣ Because of that, I believed it, because I made myself believe it, and I bred the most masochistic of romantic hearts, which resulted in my illness.⁣ When I lived this story, my own twisted fairy tale, it was unbeknownst to me at the time because I was young and naïve. I gave into temptation and fed the beating beast, which grew thirstier with every slash, every strike, every blow.⁣

Triple Falls wasn’t at all what it seemed, nor were the men that swept me under their wing. But in order to keep them, I had to be in on their secrets.⁣ Secrets that cost us everything to keep.⁣ That’s the novelty of fiction versus reality. You can’t re-live your own love story, because by the time you’ve realized you’re living it, it’s over. At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to.⁣ Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence, due to my illness, and all were punished.

The Ravenhood trilogy is a gritty, modern-day take on Robin Hood filled with suspense, thrills, and all the feels.

Y’ALL!

I don’t think anyone returns as many audibles as I do. If the narration is bad - it essentially ruins the entire thing for me and I won’t listen to it. I’m also not much of a review person so the fact that I’m doing this says a lot. But, I have to say......

THIS WAS EVERERYYYTHINGGGGG! Bravo Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden on this narration!!! Wow!!! You both did AMAZING!!!!

Flawless

I’m in utter trepidation here. This book has thrown for a loop. What I expected was nothing compared to I just listened to.

What magical illusions this author pulled with her story telling. I suggest anyone to go in blind and experience this masterpiece and yes I’m only on book 1.

To Maxine and Joe…. You are narrator gods. You have transported me in that town, I felt every goosebump, every nerve impulse, every lust filled stare… and that conclusion , I’m just speechless

Excellent Narrated Story

Audio: Downloaded this for a long road trip. Great narrator even the spicy scenes. Was surprised to have a Male voice as well made it much more realistic. This was very satisfying for 6 hrs along in the car crossing the desert.

Story: Excellent Story, did not know anything about this story was just on my TBR. Got sucked in immediately,

Epic start

Romance, suspense, modern-day Robin Hood. Beautiful descriptive writing. One of my favorite series of all time. Maxine and Joe narrate duet style and it is perfect! Must continue story with Exodus and The Finish Line

5 STARS!! ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT

I read HUNDREDS of books and so when I started this, I wasn’t expecting much. I was expecting the same formula as seen hundreds of time throughout many novels. I was pleasantly shocked and delightfully surprised at finding this treasure. I got this rec from BookTok and wasn’t at all interested at first. But then the power of social media peer pressure set in and folded, getting the first book. I GOT ALL THE FEELS. Kate is a wonderful author and this story is a sort of play on of a popular story of Robin Hood. It’s intense, the narrators ARE SPECTACULAR. I’ve heard Joe Arden several times and consider him on of my favorites but this novel is one of his best work!! I highly recommend you fold to the social media peer pressure and pick up this gem. If you’ve been having any hesitation as I first did, let this review be the cementing factor when I say, YES, It’s a great story thus far and well worth it!

Truly Captivating

This book is chock full of things I really don't like in a book. But I sure couldn't put it down! The writing was superb and the concept was so twisted and convoluted, I simply had to find out what happened. Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden are always wonderful, and this audiobook is proof of why they're at the top of the heap for narrators.

These characters. I don't even know how to give you a taste. Cecilia comes from a bad childhood. In fact, as a child she was more of the adult than her single mother. Now she's living with her over-bearing absentee father. The stage is set for poor judgment and self-abasement. Sean is smart and charming. Also a bit disarming, you could say. He has this way of making Cecilia feel wonderful, even as he's talking into things she's not comfortable with. He's an easy manipulator, and normally a character I would not like at all. But his friend Dominic makes Sean look like an angel. The dark, brooding genius has no room for others in his life. Except on his terms.

So both of these men are controlling asses. Yet they have something so captivating Cecilia wasn't the only one who couldn't stay away. I suspect most readers will feel the same, even as the logical side of their brains says, "hey! wait a minute..."

I'll admit I'm not 100% sold on this series yet, despite the way I was mesmerized by this first book. There's a menage scene I really could have done without. Oh, it was hot as fire. Just totally not my scene. Add to that the host of poor decisions, reckless lifestyles, and manipulation. Everything about this story screams that it is totally something I would not enjoy. But...I really <mostly> did. The ending left me unsatisfied, but then it's a cliffhanger so that's to be expected. But it didn't seem like the story is headed into a good place. I'm going to try the second book and see if these intriguing characters will convince me that what has me captivated is actually the good in them that they're trying so hard to hide in this first story. I'll let you know...
