About this listen
"Some husbands bought their wives flowers, others bought jewellery. Mine? He returned the things he stole."
I should have known better. Hot guys didn’t hit on big girls without an agenda. They didn’t approach them in bars and talk their way into your bed. They also didn’t make you feel beautiful and proud of your curves. But I was going through a dry spell - actually, I’d kind of been going through a dry spell all my life - and dry spells sucked. Of course I slept with him.
I was such a fool.
I believed his lines. Fell for his easy smile; the man swept me off my feet, rocked my world, then robbed me blind.
I really needed a three-date rule.
Angry and embarrassed, I engaged the help of my best friend to track the thief down and make him return what he took. But when I found him, he wasn’t alone....
What does a girl do when she finds not one thief, but an entire family?
She marries into it, of course.
Fool Me Twice, the first in an epic and hilarious crime series from best-selling Australian author Lilliana Anderson.

Just an innocent bet. Okay, well, maybe a bet to rob the three most virtuous girls in town of their purity isn't exactly innocent, but there's no way we could have known how it would all turn out. How much trouble it would bring. But what the hell were an Amish girl and her sisters doing in the middle of Bright Falls, anyway? I mean, it seemed almost too easy. She was a sheep and I was the wolf, and it was time for me to feast.

We met in the least likely of places. It started out innocently enough. I was “ScreenGod”, and she was “Montana”, but of course those weren’t our actual names, just the virtual cloaks we hid behind. Logging in at night and talking to her was my escape - my sanctuary. Her real name was Eden, I’d soon come to find out. From the first time we connected online, I found myself transfixed. She was an addiction. At first, we knew nothing about each other’s real identities...and she was adamant that we keep things that way.

Being single and looking for a wild night, I asked him if he wanted to join me. To my delight, he said yes. On paper, it seemed like I had hit the jackpot. And if I wasn't fresh from a toxic marriage, I would have absolutely noticed the finer things about him. Unique Rom-Com
This was a great and hot start to the Cartwright Brothers series! Lilliana does a great job of developing the story and each character. The main thing that I couldn’t understand was Holland. I’m not quite sure how one person lets the same thing happen to them back to back. Later in the book, I do start to like her and her personality better though. Certain parts of this book were a little unbelievable, but overall it was really great. I did enjoy all of the action, steamy scenes, laughable moments, angst, and drama. I can’t wait to see where this journey goes with the rest of the series! Amy created a wonderful performance with her narration. Each character had a distinct voice and she did great accents for them as well. I love when a narrator can bring a book to life for me with their voice.

Has Potential
This is a steamy listen that falls a bit flat for me. The book starts off with a hot hookup but after that it goes downhill for me. I really couldn't get into the rest of the story. Marrying someone who only slept with you to steal from you...don't think so. I guess if you can overlook that then give this book a chance. Otherwise, don't bother. The narration was alright. Amy Soakes did well with the emotions but I thought she had the female voices a bit too high pitched for my liking but I would've been able to adjust to it if the story had been better.

Smiling and Laughing the Whole Time
This is one that has had me thinking about it for days afterwards because it was just so adorable. I was found myself constantly grinning at Holland and Nate's relationship and the circumstances of the situation. Holland is a bigger girl that is socially awkward but is also quirky and at the same time hilarious; she does seem like a little bit of an airhead at some points in the book, but I still really liked her as a character. I liked that even though she got herself and her friend into a bad situation, that they were able to make the best of things. Also, very well written steamy moments throughout! The author did a fabulous job writing this one and I really enjoyed this listen.
The narrator did an excellent job in this performance. She was really able to magnify Holland's mannerisms in such a way that made me love her as a character so much more. She also did a great job differentiating between character voices and easily kept me engaged throughout.

Original and Fun!
This was my first Lilliana Anderson's book. This is the first book in the Cartwright Brothers. Holland and Nate's relationship is hilarious, steamy, twisted, but also cute. I like their happy ending. The Cartwright Family is just crazy. Amy Soakes did an amazing job with the narration. I love her beautiful accent. #romance - a #happyending #humorous #romanticstory
I listened to the audiobook of this story. Initially the woman's voice seemed too bimbo for me. However through out the story I got used to her voice.
I was hooked with the actually story and I enjoyed the plot and unexpected turn of events. The story ends with a happy ending but I suppose it is expected in romances and nothing less would fit.
This story is the first of the Cartwright brothers series and the author introduces us nicely to the family and sets a bit of expectations to each character's personality.
I have to confess that I am interested in listening or reading the next book on the series. 😊

Fool me once, Shame on you!
There is something to be said for a family of crime that can be so crooked, yet make me laugh out loud! The Cartwright family did just that! Holland is a bigger girl, slightly awkward and getting older. But she can sing! When Nate Cartwright hears her, he immediately is taken by her. Or is he taking from her? This story from the beginning is quirky and made me smile. Holland is your average woman, has confidence issues, but when provoked is fearless. I loved her tonacity, chasing after Nate without a plan and getting herself into a sticky predicament. I loved Nate with his incredible charm. Though questionable employment, his personality and good looks would win any woman over, so I certainly can understand Holland's quandary! Add in the brothers, his mother and Holland's best friend, and there is chaos and love. A fun listen and will leave you wanting to get to know the next Cartwright better.
Amy Soakes does an amazing job narrating this book. Her American accent is spot on and her pace is perfect. I love her comedic timing, each joke and passage bringing a smile to my face. Its a great listen.

Holland💘Nate! Great Story, Great Audible Listen🎧
Enjoyable with some hilarous LOL moments!, Lilliana Anderson created an original story, with interesting storylines and characters. It is the type of story that has you laughing at times and then rolling your eyes at others. Sure some of it is over the top, like who can fall victim to being robbed the same way twice. Oh yea, that would be Holland, I really liked Holland, she was especially her spirit and personalty, I was so glad the circumstances she fell in did not break her and she stayed true to herself. And then there is Nate, I loved the chemistry between them from the start. While I did not care for his family business and despised his mother I did love the way the story played out and the direction the author took it. This is a fast paced story, it is entertaining and has drama, angst, twists, some great humor and hot romance. I am looking for forward to hear more about those Cartwright Brothers, hope their books become available on Audible soon. Liliana Anderson, thank you for this great & entertaining story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Amy Soakes is a wonderful narrator and voice performer. She brings the characters to life, gives each their own unique voice and personality. She is a skilled and entertaining storyteller, a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for great listen🎧

Loved! This! book!
This book just astounded me! The whole stealing everything she owned?!? I was like Whaaa? Then to have it happen again? Haha I can see why she got in a snit and did what he deserved. But then i was shocked at what happened next. That when the story took a while turn. It became more serious, wonder-filled and the pages were hot!
The two main characters were great! I loved them! They have chemistry that I could feel coming off the pages. They each had a nice growing period where they reached limits and decided to go for it. It was excellent.
As secondary characters this is filled with them. There are five...yes FIVE hot brothers in this book. They are like the mafia...they work for the family. Each has a different personality which is fun but sometimes that gets them in trouble. Alisha is the bestie of Holland..while we don’t get her full story she is highly involved with this one.
I listened to this on audio and I kept watching the time. I was so worried this would have a cliff hanger. A Lot of stuff happens near the end and I was freaking out I wouldn’t get fulfillment. Amy Soakes is the narrator. She does a good job with all these different characters.
This is a new to me author. I enjoyed the writing style and look forward to reading the next in the series.
I need the next book! Sam and Alisha....to be on audio. Please.
