Publisher's summary

Trashy-romance writer Gerri has it all - an overbearing family, a dead-end job, and no man but a ton of pressure to get married and have kids. Frustrated and hopeless that things will ever change, she decides it’s time to transition from “tragic loser” to “tragic loss”. Armed with a shoebox full of sleeping pills and a big bottle of vodka, she’s ready to end it all. First, she writes “honest” farewell notes to everyone she knows…However, her big exit becomes her latest failure, and now she must face all those she’s offended with her “final” words. Is it possible to get along with people once they know what you really think of them? Gerri’s going to have to find a way to make things right with everyone…or die trying.

Hallelujah! Julia Whelan shines through again!

After giving up on a previous boring audiobook, I knew just where to go! My vast collection of Whelan-narrated winners! Her rare narrative skills bring everyone to vivid life. Her performance of a particular child had me laughing out loud. I can envision myself right there in person! Kerstin Guerrero brilliantly creates a unique, humorous and lovely family collection of quirky characters. Whelan and Guerrero are a perfect pair and I look forward to more from these two. In our unsure, depressing time right now, this humorous tale is happily welcome. Highly recommended with 🍒🍒🍒 on top. Worth a treasured credit or, as I was lucky enough, the $7 I spent. Thanks you, Julia! You are never ever a disappointment and always a delightful pleasure!

Love!!

I love this book! I listen whenever I’m in a book slump and it never lets me down.

It’s smart, funny and Julia Whelan is wonderful, as usual.

i loved this book! author! narrator!

I loved this book from the get go! it was funny, yet sad, tht a family can (unknowingly?) treat a family member like this. But, I loved all the characters in this story! The dialogue was great! And of course the narrator was AMAZING as always ;)

Funniest Book Ever

What did you love best about For Every Solution, A Problem?

The humor and the characters.

What about Julia Whelan’s performance did you like?

Everything! She's the best.

Any additional comments?

Clearly I have the humor of a German woman because this was the funniest book I've ever read. I loved every minute of it. It is not stupid, mindless romance, nor is it the same old formula. It is not a heavy book as the premise might imply. I wish audible would translate more of her books and use Julia Whelan as the narrator. She is my favorite and if I'm on the fence on a book, she will make it a definite purchase.

Creative, serious, funny. This book has it all.

One of my favorite listens ever. Julia Whelan’s narration is just outstanding. There is a scene in a dentist’s chair that makes you laugh out loud. And gotta give a nod to the translator. Don’t let the topic of suicide deter you. It is far from sad. I’d love to listen to the author’s other books, but I don’t like the narrator.

Better Than I Thought

This one turned out to be better that I thought--glad I listened. Very controlling mother in this one, but the main characters get past it--thank goodness.. I was drawn to it by the narrator. She has become one of my favorite.

Yes, I will look for other books by this author and most definitely when JW is the narrator. As a matter of fact, I just purchased another book with JW narrating.

Must See the Humor Above All

Ok $5 sale book. I purchased as the publisher summery said humor on a subject that is not funny. I love Ms Whelan’s interpretation of an author’s humor on a dark subject so I took a chance. But beware if you have lost someone to suicide this book is not for you. If you have not, then there is plenty of humor to make this book worth your time.
This is set in Germany and you quickly see the heroine of the story is on a downward trend starting with her birth name.
If you like a humorous author who took a chance on a different viewpoint eg glass half empty rather than glass half full, then this book is for you. It was cleverly done and a great translation. All the characters were well developed and it was the dialogue and the inner action that was the author’s focus. I have visited Germany a few times, but did not know some of the rules that the Germans live by.
Were my comments of help?

Not a funny subject

I just didn't see the humor in the situation. I tried to stay with the book, but didn't finish it. It just didn't fit me.
