Publisher's summary

Forgotten memories, supernatural abilities, mysterious tattoos, and an enduring love that defies all odds.

Four months ago, Lena woke up in a dark alleyway with no recollection of who she is. The only clues to her past are a mysterious tattooed symbol and a supernatural power: the ability to see evil in people. While struggling to regain her memory, she follows a guiding instinct to a small Colorado town.

There she finds other young men and women with similar stories, similar tattoos, and a multitude of superhuman powers. Among them a man she's intensely attracted to, yet with no memories of him, she has no idea why.

As Lena and the others explore their powers and try to figure out who and what they are, they make a frightening discovery. Those who know the answers to their questions are hunting them. And if they find them, these superhumans may not survive.

Superb narration and great plot!

I just finished listening to this book and it was wonderfully narrated. LOVED the storyline, the surprises, the characters, and can't wait to see what Street has in store for us next!

Started getting really good at chapter 25…

It was an ok storyline that took a detour most of the book to focus on a love triangle. Then finally got back to the main draw and just sprinted through. At times it had me wanting more and others just trying to get through it.

Okay, not amazing - VERY YA

I recommend this through audible escape, not purchase or credit. Other books in series not on audible. Not engaged in story or characters enough to read the rest.

Slow burn (very, very slow) romance, but H/h are engaging, as is their little romance, interesting premise but weakly executed, very little action, bulk of book is basically the FMC pining for MMC and being confused about their 'connection'.

Great read

Love this book. The Audible performance was good, however wish there had been more emotion in Flint's voice. overall, I highly recommend it!

Unique and Interesting Storyline!

This book seamlessly blends fantasy, action and mystery into a tantalizing story that will have you wondering about what comes next.

Why is this in the Romance category?

This book is VERY VERY Y.A. No, not YA.. what’s below YA? This book is that. There isn’t any cussing for Christ sake! There is little to no romance, but I will say I’m glad it came in the romance package because I didn’t have to waste a credit.

The whole book is pretty much the FMC pining hard for the main MMC and wondering why they have a “connection”. I was hoping the FMC was more.... adult? But no. Pretty much a teenage girl waking up with no memories who discovers a group with super powers. Then of course one of the girls in the group decides to to give our FMC a “makeover” and then the MMC is all “you are beautiful”. Then a bad guy comes in who wants to kill the FMC because she’s special and the MMC saves her because she obviously can’t save herself despite her super powers. Then they love each other but don’t know why and they can’t love each other because of something or other. It’s forbidden of course. It’s your stereotypical teenage romance. With no action, no romance, and high school drama.

Authors really love this idea for their female protagonist; who always needs saving by the big strong brooding manly man who OF COURSE starts off as an asshole because he loves the FMC but it’s not aloud or dangerous or he’s been hurt in the past (cue tiny violin - waaah waaahh waaaah). It’s getting really hard to find good audiobooks that authors write great strong WOMEN as their protagonist. Instead they regurgitate the same old girl with the same old storyline with the same old forbidden romance. It’s really irritating and embarrassing.

ugh, started off interesting..

The hook started off with a interesting concept then just seemed to lag.
Of course there was the jealousy, to much drama and goodness of course ridiculous situations. I actually gagged a couple of times listening to the totally drivel that spewed out at times.
Thank goodness it was free or I'd be incredibly irritated. I gave it two stars because at least they had the fortitude to sit and write a book and the beginning wasn't bad, wish it would have stayed in the same vein.

Plot might be interesting, but far too much frustrated sexual angst

The plot could have been interesting, but for every 1 sentence of plot, theres 5 sentences of attempted soft prn.
I usually enjoy the young adult novels, even some middle school age novels, when the stories are well done. And the young romance doesn't bother me in a good story, it's part of life.
But i couldn't get to the story in this one due to the attempted slow burn romance that was just too annoying.
Sad.
