This too, better than the first one.

I received this audiobook for free from the author / narrator / publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.

I was massively intrigued by the premise of the first book of the series but then was equally disappointed by the actual book. The second book's synopsis sounded like it will have some redeeming qualities and thankfully it does. The story arc is much better in this one and it holds your attention. The action sequences are better and well planned.

What I didn't like about this book is that it switched from sci-fi to supernatural, which is rather disappointing.

And the narration is somewhat weak in this one. The voice lacked infliction and the emotions weren't conveyed properly.

Very interesting take on Dante

I initially thought that passing off Dante's Divine Comedy as a space opera would not go over very well. I was wrong. This book hit all the right notes and told an interesting story of a far off future gone terribly wrong. Definitely worth the listen. Looking forward to book three.

Performance was great, Story is starting to slip!

What made the experience of listening to Fortress Purgatory the most enjoyable?

Honestly reading the first book was a great idea and I would recommend you start with the first book. This book was good until the final scene and it started to go supernatural which is not my idea of Sci-Fi.

What does Persephone Rose bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His storytelling is by far makes the book come alive, his excitement in scenes can be felt and he gets your heart racing

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I found the sex scene to be one that I wasn't pleased with, it isn't needed in this book and I was glad I did not have my daughter in the car during that scene.

Any additional comments?

Towards the end, the book starts to explain a supernatural part of the series and I probably won't read the third book because I don't find that to be Sci-Fi. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Good storyline!

Enjoyed the book, very short though. An interesting take.

Much better than the first book

I think the overall flow of the story was better than the first book. I sympathize with the characters not getting answers. It seems like one question would get answered and four more would pop up. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

Book 2 in the sci-fi version of dante's trip through hell

This is the second book in a sci-fi version of Dante's trip through hell. This series is spectacular. Whether you are familiar with Dantes trip or new to it this is an extremely enjoyable read. If you were thinking literary boredom you are wrong. Not knowing any of its history, you would still find this to be an amazing sci-fi story with plenty of plot twists amazing characters in crazy situations. Sit back relax and enjoy.
