Great for Slower Adults, Too!

This was a fantastic course for me, a beginner in their 4th decade of life. I've been using Duolingo every day for the last 3 months but something about the AI voices make it difficult to really feel accomplished and like I'm really learning French, especially for hoping to speak it with real people someday. Paul Noble's audiobook helped me to feel like I could intentionally build sentences in multiple variations all on my own. The pace was slow enough, and with just enough repetition that I was able to fly through the lessons while washing dishes and feel really good about my progress without the "rewind of shame" that I usually go through with such couses.

I've never been very good at learning languages even though I've had years of formal lessons in Spanish and Japanese, and I was really daunted by French because I'm such an aural learner (and the language doesn't allow pronunciation of many of its letters!), but I was very successful with this course and have built enough confidence to continue with eager curiosity instead of my usual sense of grudging persistence. I'm getting a bit emotional as I write this because I just can't tell you what a gift that is. I've always wanted to be a person who can speak even one other (if not multiple) languages, but I've never really thought it was in the cards for me because I am always great with memorizing individual words, but terrible with forming thoughts and sentences in another language; after listening to this audiobook I genuinely think that my luck may be starting to change. I am so grateful for this feeling and I hope that everyone will share in it when they try this book.

I’m finally learning French

After a year of apps, books, and tutors, Paul’s approach is finally helping me to understand the French language. I’m a fan! Thanks, Paul.

Great for mom's too!

I started going through the adult french course, but realized I didn't have any need to book a room or reserve a table in French in America and will not be going to France anytime soon, which is what the adult course focused on and other such things for the first three hours. Then I saw the kids french course and wondered if it'd be more applicable to me... it was! I'm a mom of three, and let me tell you, this is a kid's AND Mom's french course! You talk about wants, needs, family, and family applicable stuff. I'm into this course 2 hours worth and am having so much more fun, because I actually relate to what I'm learning and I can actual use it with my kids. I give this 10 stars!!!! So easy, makes so much sense, and no memorization of a long list of rules and exceptions. Just easy fun, with each chapter 5-10 minutes long!

Easy to follow

I have bough a few language audiobooks but this is far the best to learn from on the go.
I am a language teacher and quite picky but It is very logically organized, easy to understand and follow. I do not speak a world of French ( bought this for my 11 year old whom has just started French ) but in 1 hour I learnt a lot! It is repetitive but not to be boring like some others . It is excellent for kids and adult complete beginners.
I miss a bit of fun stuff for kids in it but overall it is an easy to learn from audiobook ! We are only at the first chapters and intrigued how much it will teach us when we finish this course, I will buy his other French book and the Spanish language one as well.

Not really for kids. more for older

I love the adult courses but this was a fail. I had to return this. It's supposed to be geared for children It was too much like the other versions with unrealistic phrases. Unrealistic for a child learn in my opinion. After a few minutes a child would be unmotivated to pay attention. Paul Noble's other audio-books are great. And this could be an additional resource for an older learner. Not great for kids.
