Publisher's summary

J.E. Nicassio creates the kind of close encounter that will leave listeners spellbound.

When high school junior, Samantha Hunter, and her father move to New Mexico, it's a chance to leave tragedy behind and start over. However, the arrival of a dark-haired stranger changes everything. Lucien introduces Sam to the prospect of enjoying life again, and to the hidden world of aliens. But crazier than that, Lucien doesn't feel entirely like a stranger. Redemption and romance follow Sam in her new life as she works to understand the alien-human romance she's developing - a romance that feels beyond her control. There's something bigger happening around her, and to her, too, and this is just the beginning....

J. E. Nicassio packs in the action like a superhero movie - From the Sky has all the hallmarks of a Hollywood blockbuster - ready to light up the sky like a fleet of UFOs.

Kind slow to get thought

So this book had a great blurb and interesting premise. Once reading it however all I could picture was someone taking the tv show Roswell mixing in a bit of the Twilight books, and bam this was born. It had a lot of potential but a lot seemed borrowed from other things and that subtracted from its possibilities. There were some sentences that an editor clearly missed but I have seen that in traditionally published things as well. There were a few more of them than most books though. After the ending, I am a little curious as to how the relationship will end up but I am not sure if I will continue the series or not.

Twilight with Aliens

Title pretty much says it all, for the story at least. Narration was decent, but her take on Male voices was REALLY cringy.

Superb read!

I loved this read. The characters are amazing and fully developed and the supernatural elements really make the story.
Sam, the main character really draws you in.

Highly recommend - narrator is a good one too.

A must get

A great storyline that captivated me from the beginning to the end where you are left with a cliffhanger. Characters are definitely something and wow. Definitely a must. The author got herself a new fan.

Vampire Diaries? Twilight?

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

First off, the narration was pretty good. Unfortunately, she didn't try to hit any accents with the characters who should have had accents. They just sounded like everyone else. I can accept that. Sometimes, narrators can't hit accents (I guess) Everything else was ok. Average narrator for an average book.

The story:
Girl (Sam) gets into car accident (oh no. How sad) She is rescued by random person (Vampire Diaries anyone? Damon is that you!!??) She goes to the funeral of a family member and suddenly feels like she is being stalked (Hi Edward, how are you today?) She has to relocate to a new town with her dad, who buys her a car (does this sound familiar?) She instantly makes friends in her school, she is drawn to this "familiar stranger" guy Lucian. He is very Edward-y, complete with pale skin, weird family and he pops up everywhere she goes. She suddenly decides that she likes this guy, despite the fact that he is a Class A stalker. She learns that there is something different about this guy and it takes her all of 30 seconds to discover what his secret really is (Helllooooo Roswell!) and she is NOT weirded out by this alien twist, she still wants to try having a relationship with him.

To add to the very Twilight-y vibe we have going on, Lucian has many odd family members. Including a "sister" who instantly dislikes Sam (Does this remind us of Rosalie?). Everyone in the family is upset about the relationship between Lucian and Sam. They are all very disproving of the relationship and want the two characters to break up. Complete with physical fighting between the family and Lucian.

I didn't hate this book but I didn't like it either. It was a very been there/done that book. We already have one Twilight which was not amazing and now we have another knockoff Twilight in this book, but with aliens, rather than vampires.

Roswell meets Twilight but with aliens!

And I say that in a good way! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this book. The narrator did an excellent job keeping me entertained while listening. I’m excited to start book 2!

Aliens oh my!

What if aliens were real? What if they took an interest in you? What if you thought one of them was kind of cute and he totally clued you in a world you knew nothing about? If you like those questions the answers are in this book and I had a good time finding them.

Interesting alien love story

Interesting YA love story, light on sex, heavy on angst. The narrator made it wonderful.

From the Sky

I enjoyed this YA Sci-Fi/Fantasy story. The main character, Samantha, and her father pick up and move to New Mexico to get a fresh start after the deaths of her twin brother and mother. This is only the beginning of a whole new, and unbelievable adventure.

J. E. Nicassio’s story entertained me, and left me wanting more. I’m looking forward to seeing where this series goes.

The narration by Holly Holt was well done.
