Lucas knows the perfect night entails just three things: video games, wine, and pad thai. Peanuts are a must! Other people? Not so much. Why complicate things when he’s happy alone? Then one day the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally.

Precisely what I needed as a gift to my parents
This book of short stories was a nice, easy read. I've been having trouble focusing on longer books lately, so these shorter stories were just what I needed. They're all about pets, which I love, and they brought back some good memories of pets I've had over the years. The stories are lighthearted and funny, which was a nice change from some of the heavier stuff I've been reading. They're perfect for reading before bed or just when you have a few minutes to spare. If you're looking for something quick, enjoyable, and heartwarming, this book is a good choice. I especially think it would be great for seniors who might find longer books challenging.
