About this listen

Alex and his three friends drop out of college after discovering a revolutionary way to travel into space using a small amount of energy. Their world-changing technology is sought by the government, and they are forced to go into hiding while they perfect it. Their adventures into orbit and beyond become a global sensation. As they navigate fame, family, and those who are determined to stop them, little do they know that their little startup could have galactic consequences once they discover a derelict spaceship.

Good story

Enjoyed the story. The only thing that distracted from the story was the beginning did not start at the begging. It did not develop enough foundation for how the boys were able to discover how to make dark matter and apply it to power a vehicle.

A spacers dream

I really enjoyed this book. I wished there would have been more pre story to build up to their ship. Can't wait for #2. The narrator wasn't as bad as some reviews made it out to be.

So conflicted ...

Just love, love the story but the execution was very, very flawed, and the narration extremely dull. So, I am so conflicted about this title but yet I still think it was worth the credit.

Ehh

The book was decent but the narrator was horrid.

For the audio book they need to add divisions. Earth central command, destiny bridge. What ever. When it’s jumping between characters and such it gets kinda hard to read who is doing what as the narrator uses the same dull monotones for everything.

Feels amateurish

this feels pretty amateurish compared to some of the other books in this genre ... maybe get some beta readers, or more beta readers that dont feel like they have to kiss the floor you walk on.

Whoa!

A big range of increasing complexity kept my interest. The story has very nifty twists all along and at the end. Very good reader.

Was this written by a 6th grader?

I’ll be asking for a refund from audible for this book. There a few unique concepts presented but explored very superficially. There is little or no chemistry between characters and the unmerited hubris of the main protagonist is annoying. Poor earth if its survival depends on the leadership and intelligence of Alex. The narrative drones unlike the more lively alien constructs.

Daniel McColly, you have potential but you need to bone up on astrophysics and tune up your dialogues and soliloquy. The speeches are uninspired.

Really?

We can only suspend our disbelif so much. The poor narration does not help the author with its repeats and corrections. This was not well thought out.
