Publisher's summary

There are all kinds of legends about the forests of Central Pennsylvania, and in this sequel to Dark Hollow, the truth about those legends is finally revealed.

Halloween is coming, and a new haunted attraction is open for business in LeHorn's Hollow. Folks will come from miles around to walk down the spooky trail and get scared witless. But there's one thing the owners of the ghost walk haven't counted on. There really is something waiting in the woods - a vast, ancient evil whose hunger threatens to consume all life on Earth. Soon, the unsuspecting customers will pay their money and get in line...to die. And only one man, occult detective Levi Stoltzfus, can save them and stop the evil before it is unleashed.

Disappointing

Falls short of the Prequel. My least favorite Keene story. Still good though, I was dissatisfied with the very end.

Good read

Wasn’t as engaging as some of his other books to me. Filled in a couple gaps though. Still a good book.

A must listen

Excellent story. Chet Williamson did an excellent job bringing these characters to life. I read this book about ten years ago, give or take, and I am so executed that Keene's books are getting the audiobook versions they need.

Essential for Keene's shared universe

If you are interested in the shared universe of Keene's novels, this is the first one that really ties what came before together and provides some of the world building for what is to come. Essential for those reasons.
I was slightly disappointed the titular Ghost Walk didn't have more page time. I am a sucker for stories about haunted houses, carnivals, attractions, etc, so wanted more of that than this novel provides. I understand, however, the let down was due in large part to my own expectations.

Forever in Blue Jeans, er Levis

Levi Stoltzfus is baaaaack, can I get a hells to the yeah? We go back to the holla, er Hollow, for some monstrous misdoings, and Levi is in it up to his ears. This book makes me LaHorney, Baby!

In all seriousness, I'm a Keene junkie, I just can't get enough, and this is why. The book takes a hot minute to get rolling, but that's just getting the setup and groundwork lain. After that, this book is a beast of its own, and you will get sucked in. Williamson isn't bad at all, but it's pretty hard to ruin a Keene Novel. Maybe Elmo from Sesame Street would take this ship down, but even then only in the narrowest of ways. Good thing Williamson is good at his job.

love Keen

I had already read the prequel and Ghost walk didn't disappoint. being able to listen to it makes it even easier since I don't always have time to actually read but I do have a 45 min drive to work everyday.

Good but underwhelming

Overall, I enjoyed this book. The sense of growing dread was well done, and the story was interesting. I think that it did drag on a bit and took awhile to get to the point, and when it did, it was over a little too quickly. Not my favorite of Keene’s work, but solid. If you like Keene, you’ll like this. A Gathering of Crows is better!
