A great continuation of the story

This was a great continuation of the story. i really enjoyed seeing Caina come into her own and become a full-fledged Ghost. The narration is wonderful and spot on with her voices and inflections. I'll be excited for book three.

Johathan Moeller

If you are looking for a good series then I highly recommend this author. His chosen narrator Hollis McCarthy is excellence and plays all the roles very well!

Entertaining!

This series doesn't disappoint. Book 1 laid the foundation of Caina's childhood and recruitment into the Ghosts, the secret arm of the Emperor that carries out spy operations, investigations, and assassinations of the bad guys who threaten the innocent. Book 2 is the story of Caina's first investigation into a series of strange deaths in a city that's on the verge of rebellion against the empire. It showcases Caina's wit, investigative skills, fighting prowess, and even her ruthlessness in ridding the world of evil bad guys. Action, intrigue, mystery, all set in a medieval type society with magic? Yes, very entertaining! Fantasy fans can't go wrong with this.

Absolutely Enjoyable!

I am really enjoying this series! Caina is awesome! Jonathan you have build some really great characters in this series and it is my pleasure to give you a review and thank you very kindly for the opportunity to read this series! Hollis has given each a voice and I appreciate that a lot. I am excited to read the next in this series and see where Caina is off to next.

Decent narration of a less than mediocre book.

Like all of Moellers books it's repetitive and anticlimactic. His grip on the english language is worse than my own (and it's my second language) and he could use a few lessons in writing techniques.
The characters might change names, but not personalities (especially the antagonists are virtualy identical).
Hearing it read is better than reading it since it's easier to overlook all the weird wordchoices and descriptions.
