About this listen
It's easy for women to focus on what seems to separate us: differences in age, parenting styles, career goals, or maybe even core beliefs about whether leggings can adequately serve as pants (the struggle is real, y'all). The reality, though, is that we have far more in common than we realize, and since Scripture shows us the blessing of friendships across generations, it's high time we step out of our same-age, same-stage silos. Life is so much better that way.
Sophie Hudson, in the delightfully quirky Southern style her listeners have come to know and love, sends out a rallying cry for women everywhere to open our eyes and see the people God has put in our lives - whether they're behind us, beside us, or in front of us. It is such a gift to love one another, walk with one another, and soak up the blessings that flow across all generations.
Saddle up, sister. This is going to be fun.

Story
If you’re anything like Sophie Hudson, your initial reaction to the hard stuff - the pieces and parts of life that keep you up at night, relentlessly reminding you that the “simple and easy” path is somehow a turn you must’ve missed along the way - is to try to figure out how to make it go away. You might wonder if it’s possible to just ignore it, or, better yet, to burn it all down. But what Sophie found during a particularly difficult stretch is that the Lord, through his word and his people, faithfully reveals how to get up, straighten up, and stand all the way up.

Story
There's nothing quite like family - and some people would say that there's nothing better. But in a world where we sometimes know more about the Kardashians than we do about the people sleeping right down the hall, it's easy to forget that walking through life with our family offers all sorts of joy wrapped up in the seemingly mundane. There's even a little bit of sacred sitting smack-dab in the middle of the ordinary. And since time's-a-wastin', we need to be careful that we don't take our people - and their stories - for granted.

"There is really no better indicator you're a mother than acquiring the ability to catch throw-up in a plastic bag, disinfect your hands, and immediately ask your friend to pass the beef jerky as you put on another Taylor Swift song and act as if nothing has happened." Melanie Shankle tackles these questions head-on. Easygoing and relatable, she speaks directly to the heart of women of all ages who are longing to find significance and meaning in the normal, sometimes mundane world of driving carpool to soccer practice, attending class on their college campus, cooking meals for their family, or taking care of a sick loved one.

Elizabeth Passarella grew up in Memphis in a conservative Republican family with a Christian mom and a Jewish dad. Then she moved to New York, fell in love with the city - and, eventually, her husband - and changed. Sort of. While her politics have tilted to the left, she still puts her faith first - and argues that the two can go hand in hand, for what it’s worth. In this sharp and slyly profound memoir, Elizabeth shares stories and upends stereotypes about Southerners, New Yorkers, and Christians, making a case that we are all flawed humans simply doing our best.

He is not an oversized electrical current you just plug into when you need additional help, or a theological concept, but just as real and active as Christ.

I loved this book. It touched my heart and made me think of all the women who've so deeply influenced my life. I have already bought copies for a few of the with more to come. thank you Sophie Hudson for saying all the things that matter to women at a time when we need to hear them most.

Love this!
After just finishing up a program where I was able to learn from other women at various life stages, I loved this sweet reminder about women in the Bible and the friendships they formed. God allowed seasoned women to come alongside other women to offer friendship as well as spiritual guidance. So packed with scripture and humor- I think I'm going to have to use the phrase "Get off my lawn" more often : )

Encouraging word for women of different generations
Not a deep dive into scripture, but a different take on some familiar biblical characters. Sophie encourages women to form close relationships with both older and younger generations as a way to share life and share the gospel. She uses three pairs of women from scripture, plus memorable stories of women from her family and friends. Like having a long conversation with a dear friend.

So Very Needed!
If you are looking for Biblical truth and encouragement that is mixed with both heart and humor, you have come to the right place! This book packs such a punch relating to the future of the Church, and our jobs as Women in Christ! This is a must-read for every Sunday School Teacher, and every involved Church-goer that wants to see growth in their Church and their lives!
