Simply the best…story and narration

Wow I was so happy to be back with the residents of Whynot and Gimme Some Sugar book 5 in the Sex and Sweet Tea Series did not disappoint because this is Juliette Poe at her best.
This is Larkin Mancinkus owner of Sweet Cakes Bakery and wanderer Deacon Locke’s story and what a sweet sexy tale they have to tell.....
Deacon spends his time traveling the country on his Harley taking odd jobs to get by but as soon as he rides into Whynot he knows this town is different from any other he has spent time in and when he bumps into Larkin things really start to heat up.....
The narration team of Meghan Kelly and Oliver Clarke did a fantastic job with the humour and bringing the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the banter and they had me laughing out loud.
Larkin is owner of the local bakery and is up on all the gossip happening in Whynot but what sge isn’t used to is being the center of the locals gossiping and that’s exactly where she finds herself after her encounter with the handsome stranger who just rode into town......
I love everything about Whynot, I love the old residents and their gossiping, I love the new residents that come into town and find true love. This author has a way of making you feel like you are coming home to family and friends every time you pick up one of her novels. This is a must read for all lovers of small town romance so please one click this wonderful read.

Fun and Captivating

I enjoyed every second of this genuinely sweet and heart wrenching story. It is filled with tons of heart and overflowing with more family and friend interventions then you can shake a stick at. What a beautiful and quirky town that gives us wonderfully captivating and deeply touching journeys of the heart and soul. This was such a breath of fresh air that I sighed a few times while listening to it. :) Refreshing, moving, and honest are just a few words I would use to describe what an intoxicating story this truly is!!

Meghan Kelly and Oliver Clarke did a fantastic job bringing this story to life! They made me feel so much for each of these amazing characters, and I never wanted it to end. The only better thing would have been these two authors narrating the story in duet mode. That would have been pure magic!!!! I would love to listen to these two again.

Last installment - poor performance

I was fully invested in the Mancinkus family saga. Good thing the storyline of Larkin and Deacon kept my attention because the female narrator was whiny and irritating.

Best of the series for me

An OK read - at times the contrived drama is a bit over the top. Worth reading if you like Sawyer Bennett books that are sweet and not very sensual.

Fun Love Story!

Larkin was the owner of the bakery and helping out at the bed and breakfast. Deacon rode into town on his motorcycle and took a room at the inn. Everyone in town knew everyone's business. I had to laugh-out-loud at the time she went into his room to clean and found a pair of handcuffs. She wanted to see how they felt and cuffed herself to his bed. She accidentally knocked the key off of the table and couldn't get herself out of them. Well, all he** broke loose with the gossip in that little NC town.
Meghan Kelly and Oliver Clarke did a fantastic job with narrating it. They drew me right into the characters. Both did a super job with both male and female voices.

Sugar and Spice!

I loved the softness of Larkin's character and the holding back that Deacon practiced in the beginning of their relationship. These are well suited and easy to enjoy characters.
The story was interesting and listening to how the two main characters fell for each other and their realization that they had in fact fallen in love was wonderful.
I also loved the dual partnership of the two narrators, Meghan Kelly and Oliver Clarke - both have lovely voices which are easy on the ear and they made this story come to life beautifully. In fact, this is one of the better voice partnerships that I have listened to.
I requested and listened to the audiobook version and my review is voluntary and unbiased.

Meh

Deacon Locke was almost perfect. His nomad lifestyle made since given his upbringing. He was honest, patient and understanding.
Larkin confused me. I don’t understand how she could be a confident business women and still be extremely insecure. Deacon owned/rode a bike but he wasn’t a “biker” so the references to that lifestyle were irritating. She didn’t seem so insecure (when it came to men) in the other books. The previous books mentioned that she was only about 10 lbs heavier than her twin so I don’t get the “body image” issues...especially when you’re not physically doing anything to change that image. I get that it’s a small town but these people are just nosey as hell and overly involved in each other’s lives. I’ve lived in a small town before, these folks are a bit intrusive.
