Publisher's summary

The Elemental Accords. A tournament that Earth has been chosen to take part in whether they want to or not. As a result, the entire planet is now a giant game. With people gaining access to skills and levels. For most, this is nothing short of a nightmare. For others, it is their chance to grab everything and claim the world as their own.

Aurum Lockfeather, named after the golden substance, has been chosen as a champion by one of the many gods taking part in the tournament. First, he just has to survive the week with monsters of all shapes and sizes popping out from every hole in the city. Let's not even mention the dungeons, giant behemoths, and fallen gods. With his desire being turned into his power, will he come out on top, or will another claim the glory?

Great story, cant wait for the next book!

Sucks you in quick, great performance, and of course leaves you hanging at the end waiting to find out what happens next!

Fantastic story with one flaw.

I love LitRPG stories that happen in the "real" world and this book is one of those stories. I enjoyed the progression of the story but it does have one flaw. The MC seems to have everything possible after the first story. I do not mind an OP MC but this MC has mounts, a base, many different abilities, the ability to copy skill books, alchemy, and a huge crew around him. I love these books but i think I mostly enjoy the struggle of growing stronger so I do not think I will get the next book even tho I really enjoyed this one.

Not what I expected

I decided to try this after reading the author's Sorceror King series and I'm always up for some LitRPG. As soon as the story starts though, it doesn't make sense to me.

The system voice states that it's going to start a game. As with all games, players generally start out with a similar set of advantages and disadvantages. However, the MC immediately gets a boon from the system for something as inane as simply liking it a lot. Then monsters spawn that favor women the most while tending to kill the ugly more. Immediately, this inequitable game is already terrible for most people except the MC who hadn't really done anything to deserve it.

The MC's thoughts are also a bit cringey to read since he constantly refers to the girl he just met (and initially thought was 16) with comments like cute, attractive, and a huge chest. Everyone else is also cute in his head. Maybe some people are into this but it's not really what I look for in an end of the world story.

If anything, this story just reads like a teen boy's fever dream with OP skills and harem fantasies. However, with 600 titles in my library, it's also not the worst I've read so it gets 3 stars from me at a 2x listening speed.

Waste of credit and time

Story amazing but it's hard to enjoy it with the 27 year old mc acting horny non stop. And every male is either rapist filth or a beta male. And don't forget the harem he is building Bec of Plot. Not my story. Maby teenagers or thirsty people will enjoy it. Sheesh.
