Fjerde og sidste del af serien starter hos de grå mænd, den vilde flok, der havde overfaldet og nedbrændt Ulvs landsby. Gråmændene havde slæbt Ulvs søster, Rina, med over de høje bjerge og ned til floden. Her bliver hun fedet op for at blive stor og stærk inden månen bliver rund, hvor en af gråmændene vil gøre hende med barn.
Ulv, Malto og Hurl har forladt bjergene og fuglefolkene og er nået ned til floden. Det lykkes dem at overliste nogle gråmænd, så de både får mad, våben og en båd. Glæden bliver kort, for snart sejler de ind i et udspændt net. Malto og Hurl bliver taget til fange, mens Ulv undslipper. Ulv følger efter ud til hytterne, der står på pæle i vandet. Han overmander en sovende vagtpost og får vennerne befriet. Nu mangler han bare at finde Rina. De finder hende og flygter ud mod havet, hvor de får hjælp fra uventet kant. På vejen hjem støder de igen på trolde, dværge og wolfere - og ikke mindst Aqilla, til Ulvs store glæde. Fire spændende fortællinger der udspiller sig i et oldtidsmiljø, hvor Ulv og Malto kæmper mod ondskaben i en verden af uhyrer, mærkelige væsner og mange andre farer. De støder på menneskeædende trolde, kæmper, dværge og lumske grotter i deres jagt efter Ulvs bortførte søster. Orla Klausen (f. 1946) er en dansk forfatter og tegneserietegner. Han er oprindeligt uddannet lærer, men i 1981 debuterede han med et tegneseriealbum i en serie om Jens Langkniv. De fleste af Orla Klausens fortællinger tager udgangspunkt i Danmarkshistorien, og en stor del af dem foregår i 1600-tallet. Klausen har desuden illustreret adskillige børnebøger.
