Publisher's summary

There are secrets. There are guilty secrets. And then there's switching places with your twin.

Paige Hollander and her identical twin Lily stopped switching places a decade ago. But Lily's run into trouble, and Paige is on leave from the SFPD, recovering from a traumatic shooting. It's not like she has anything better to do, and she remembers how to be feminine. Sort of. Anyway, it's selling lacy thongs in Sinful Secrets and playing Heidi to Lily's goats for a week or two. How hard could it be?

For Jace Blackstone, idyllic Sinful, Montana, is the perfect escape. In this town, he's nothing but a reclusive, black-haired stranger with an Aussie accent and a bad attitude. Not the former pride of Australia's special forces, not a best-selling thriller writer, and not a man with no more faith in women. Right up until the day a mystery fan starts getting much too up-close and personal, and his neighbor comes back from her vacation with a personality change that knocks him sideways.

Suddenly, Sinful is looking downright dangerous. And the biggest danger of all might come in the form of flashing brown eyes, a rear view to stop a man's heart, and a wit sharp enough to slice him to the bone.

Sinful could be getting serious.

Such a great audiobook

Rosalind James is one of my favorite authors. I read all of her books then buy them when they're available on audible. Guilty as Sin is just another to add to my growing collection of great reads, and listens. And I love Emma Wilder as well. She does such a great job with accents!
What I truly love about her books including Guilty as Sin is that even though there's always a really hot guy (thank God lol) but there's also a strong capable woman as well. And although it may not be on both sides there's always a strong family bond.
This was a great story with romance, steam, and some mystery to keep you interested from beginning to end. I can't wait for the next book to find out what happens with Lily & Rafe.

Different But Fun

So this book starts off with literally two different stories going on.

He has a story and SHE has a story. They don't really make much sense until the author merges the two story lines and they are both talking about both story lines as the main characters get closer.

I ended up enjoying it after that and after they got together and SHE spilled the beans about her story.

I would recommend it.

A great listen!

I loved reading this book, I absolutely loved listening to this book! I am a fan of Rosalind James’s writing and love to read her books. I love that she has Emma Wilder reading another of her books. Emma voices the characters so well, you feel like there are multiple people conversing rather than just her. I really recommend this book, both for reading and for listening.

great listen... mystery, laughter & tender romance

Emma Wilder delivers a 3D story with good character differentiation and credible inflections. It's always a relief to me when the narration matches up with a book I enjoy. We have a winner here!

I’ll confess – this is not my favorite book by Rosalind James (if you haven’t read/listened to her “ESCAPE TO NEW ZEALAND" series, you really, really should!!) but I enjoyed it thoroughly both reading and listening.

Rosalind does not depart from her trademark multifaceted, well-developed characters in this first book of a new series. This book brings it all – mystery, laughter & tender romance. I don’t have any personal experience with “the twin thing” but what I read was very believable and I loved having a peek into that relationship dynamic.

While it wasn’t all love at first sight between them, (good thing!) the conflict in Guilty as Sin was handled by the H/h the way I like it best…TOGETHER. The mystery rang true throughout, the double mystery I should say, and I really didn’t know “who done it” until the end which is quite unusual.

There always seems to be a secondary character in Rosalind’s books that steals the attention, Tobias did not disappoint!!

Great story

This story has humor, romance, suspense. Paige is a San Francisco police officer currently on leave due to a shooting while on duty. Paige’s identical twin sister, Lily, is having issues at her home in Montana. They decide to switch places. Jace, Lily’s neighbor, is a former Australian special forces member, now a very successful thriller writer. People are trying to convince Lily to sell her land for a ski resort, which she doesn’t want to do. Jace has a deranged stalker. There’s trouble from two sides. Emma Wilder does a great job with the voices. I very much enjoyed listening to this book.

So many twists and double-trouble

The first two chapters may send you astray, but stick with it. You will quickly meet Lily and Paige, twins who are both dealing with life-altering choices. Lily is non-confrontational, so injured but spunky Paige decides to switch places with her sister to deal with pushy real estate investors and town officials.

Paige, while posing as Lily, meets a recluse author and gets mixed up into some drama of his own. There is some suspense to the story (which may throw you off at the start), but the chemistry between faux-"Lily" and the "mountain man" takes off after a hilarious meet-cute.

Well worth the credit to listen to and I can't wait for Lily's story next!

Jace and Paige

Identical twins. Switching places. When I was a kid, I always thought this would be so cool. As it turns out, in Sinful, Montana, Paige and Lily switch places and it’s not so cool. Lily doesn’t want to sell her property to a big developer, and it’s gone way past bullying. So, Paige (a cop) steps in to find who’s messing with Lily.

Jace is a thriller writer and former member of the Australian Special Forces, who has a crazy stalker. Lily sees him as intimidating, and he’s not exactly thrilled to have her as a neighbor. Then he meets Paige (as Lily) and my how things change!

Rosalind James has a way of writing characters that bring you into the story and don’t let go. I really enjoyed Paige and Jace, Lily, and even Tobias. The story has twists and turns, laughter and heat, and that twin thing. Sinful, Montana might just be the place to be. Get there!

~~~ I wrote the above review almost two months ago. Since then, I was given the opportunity to listen to a free copy of the audiobook of the story. I was not compensated for my review and I was not required to write a positive review. Obviously, I really enjoyed the story. The audiobook was eye-opening for me. Emma Wilder did a wonderful job with the voices. I really enjoyed listening to the different voices she gave to the different characters. She was spot on! The story came alive, like I was there, instead of having it all just in my head, like when I read. If you are at all interested in this story (and even if you're not!), grab the audio version and give it a listen! ~~~
Love RJ
I have loved all of Rosalind James' books and this is no exception. Enjoyed the suspense and the twists but the ending was expected at least for me.
Intrigue & Sexy times
Enjoyed the mystery combined with the story's building romantic theme between two stubborn, hot characters.
