Publisher's summary

Amongst all of the Stormhosts, none are more vaunted than the Hammers of Sigmar. Forged first upon the Anvil of the Apotheosis, their Warrior Chambers are exemplars of Sigmar's glory.

In the shadow of the Nomad City, the mettle of the Stormbound is tested against the hordes of Khorne in the battle to sanctify the Crucible of Blood, a gateway to Chaos and madness. Within the ranks of the Stormcast Eternals, there is one who is greater than all others. He is the Celestant-Prime, Sigmar's Storm made manifest.

For centuries he slumbered, until the great hammer of Sigmar, Ghal Maraz, was returned and he rose again. But a warrior born must still be tempered, and so unto the swamps of Krahl does Sigmar cast his scion to destroy a powerful creature called the Prismatic King.

Worth a listen

Great fun. Full of tricky sorcery and noble warriors. However, I’m not sure it wrapped up in a completely satisfactory way.

Audio quality is great. Performance is good but not great.

A new twist on the realmgate wars

The authors change it up in this book to a first person type of story telling. At first it’s a little jarring since the previous books aren’t but you get used to it.

great performance. and a good story.

i must say i enjoy this series very much. But i find them far to short. well paced. Albeit mabye in need of a slight slowing in said area. This one had a sonewhat suprising ending. Without spiiling it. , I say i really cant wait to read more in this new warhammer world of The Age of Sigmar. Payday cannit come soon enough.... ;)

Didn't care for the 1st person view

The first half to 2/3 of this book is in first person. I had a very hard time trying to stay interested through that part. It swaps to a 3rd person view for the last storyline which is the last 7 chapters or so. I fully enjoyed that last storyline. Performance was great through it all.

poorly written, but well read

narrator manages to make weak prose tolerable, but if i didnt already love the backstory, i never could have endured these stories

Good performance but favors Stormcasts too much

The story has alot of great lore but the plot armor of stormcasts is sickening
