About this listen

My biggest mistake is the best thing that ever happened to me.

Noah
Chloe Asher is off limits. Maybe if I repeat it enough times, I’ll stop giving in every time she shows up in the middle of the night pleading for help. She takes nothing seriously, especially not me, yet I can’t stop thinking about her. It doesn’t matter how I crave her smile or burn for her touch. D is family. He trusted me with his sister. I promised to take care of her, which means I absolutely can’t keep kissing her in dark corners every chance I get.

Chloe
My life is a hot mess. Literally, if you’re talking about the small, insignificant fire in my dorm. TU is my opportunity to start over, but I can’t seem to break old habits—especially ones involving Noah Olsen. One of my brother’s best friends, and the only guy to turn me down. I don’t give second chances, but when he comes to my rescue again and again, I start to wonder if he’s what I’m missing in my life—until one little mistake could cost me my future.

Hard Hitter is the third full-length novel in the Wild Card series of steamy interconnected standalones featuring the football players of Teagan University—a brother’s best friend, grumpy/sunshine, it's always been you, college football romance with plenty of heat.

Strong and silent types can be 🥵

I had read all of the Wild Card series before listing to them on audio. So going in knew I would love it. But there is just something extra about getting to listen to the stories that is 🤌🏼🫦
I love Noah and Chloe together…and I get why they had the challenges that they did…but sometimes I just wanted to hit em with a pillow 😆 I wanted to yell at them to stop getting in their own way. But alas we had an amazing story and I just loved how they showed up for each other and developed such a sweet relationship.
I loved having the dual narration to make the different POVs have more depth. Just have to have that male voice 😉

the Silent Giant and the Wild Child

I LOVE Nikki and all of her books (even the secret ones 😉) so being given the audiobook for Hard Hitter was a HUGE deal to me because I got to experience this amazing story again.

This is book 3 in the Wild Card series. It is an interconnected so you don't have to read them in order but honestly it's a way better experience if you do. Plus the other 2 audiobooks are already out so you totally should get them all.

This audio is when the two narrators take turns per chapter and not for the gender voices. This one was done so well that I didn't even care that it wasn't my preference of a duet. Both of these voice actors were perfection. They nailed the emotions (and lack of in Noah's case) spot on. I was so invested and excited for the scenes. Chloe's voice was done so perfectly. You could hear the sass and insecurities so perfectly. The blend of the emotions make you feel like you are the one experiencing them.

The ending was especially done perfectly. Like oh my god the pain, excitement the understanding it all hits you so strongly when they read it. If you love the silent protective, supportive type with the not afraid to be who she is. Then this is the story for you.

Plus he's a hot football guy what else could you ask for?
