Publisher's summary

Having lost her post as a governess, when Annabeth Watson returns home for Christmas, she's returning home to stay. A less-than-welcome reception from her father isn't surprising, but the murder of a maid is quite shocking.

Can Annabeth find the truth of what happened during the house party, against her father's wishes? Or will the lecherous Lord Gresham and mysterious Lord Wright keep her from investigating?

Great mystery novella!

Harm for the Holidays is #1 in the Annabeth Watson Historical Cozy Mystery series by Katherine H Brown. Annabeth is unfairly dismissed without a reference from her governess post and has no choice to go home. She gets a cold reception from her father and learns that her parents are planning to host a Christmas house party. After a maid is killed, Annabeth starts to investigate. I loved the story. The mystery was solid and the characters were believable and likable. The narration by Dini Steyn is wonderful. She really brought the characters and story to life!

Murder at the houseparty

Harm for the Holidays is an awesome series by Katherine Brown. When Anna Beth lost her job as a Governess, she had to return home to her unsupportive family. She arrived just as a house party was about to begin at Christmas. Harm for the Holidays was such a great way to spend the afternoon. I liked the characters and the murder mystery was excellent. I thought that Dini Steyn was excellent as the narrator . I can't wait to enjoy more audio books in this series.

A great short cozy

It is a great mystery. It reminded me of Downton Abby. I want to know how the story continues.

Entertaining

This was an interesting mystery. It was sad to see how cavalier some men treated women and death. Annabeth's sleuthing could have caused her death. but with the help of a young man justice prevailed. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life
