About this listen
An “edge-of-your-seat” (Jessa Maxwell, author of The Golden Spoon) thriller about three women with dark secrets whose lives intersect in the picturesque and perilous Yosemite National Park from the USA TODAY bestselling author of Please Join Us.
Equipped with a burner phone and a new job, Cassie Peters has left her hectic life in New York City for the refuge of her hometown of Mammoth Lakes, California. There, she begins working again with Yosemite Search and Rescue, though she is still haunted by a case she worked on a decade ago.
She quickly falls into old patterns, joining a group of fellow seasonal workers and young adventurers who have made Yosemite their home during the summer. There, she meets Petal, a young woman living in a trailer with her much older wife, keeping a detailed diary of the goings on of the park, and Jada, a recent college graduate on a cross-country road trip with her boyfriend, documenting their journey on Instagram.
When these three women cross paths, Cassie’s past catches up with her, and the shocking consequences ripple out far beyond what any could have imagined. “Taut and atmospheric with as many jagged peaks and valleys as its dramatic setting, this captivating page-turner will keep you guessing until the end” (Katherine St. John, author of The Vicious Circle).

Of course, I’m not going to murder her in the night. I need my laptop back first. That’s the whole point of making friends with Emily Harper, author of the hugely successful novel Diary of an Octopus. So I could get into her apartment and take back what’s mine. Emily doesn’t know who I really am. She thinks I’m her biggest fan, her new best friend who happens to need a place to stay for a few days. She doesn’t realize the laptop she found—and took—from a busy airport almost two years ago was mine. I don’t care about the laptop, just what's on it: my diary.

But the vineyard is now shabby and run-down and her siblings want to sell it. Then Lucie's godfather tells her Leland's death was no accident. Story
Like a well-crafted stage play, Just Passin' Thru delivers one suspenseful scene after another. But in this historic setting a store on the Appalachian Trail called Mountain Crossings the characters who show up are no fictional creations. Like any good drama, there are the good guys (and gals) and the weirdos, too. Some show up once (and that’s enough), and some appear again and again. But all are united by two things: the author’s story-capturing talent, and whatever it is that lures them to attempt (or conquer) a 2,200-mile path that climbs and plummets from Georgia to Maine.

Travis Wren has an unusual talent for locating missing people. Often hired by families as a last resort, he takes on the case of Maggie St. James—a well-known author of dark, macabre children’s books—and is soon led to a place many believed to be only a legend. Called Pastoral, this reclusive community was founded in the 1970s by like-minded people searching for a simpler way of life. By all accounts, the commune shouldn’t exist anymore and soon after Travis stumbles upon it…he disappears. Just like Maggie St. James.

Loved!!!
Based on the reviews I wasn’t sure if I should give this book a try, One of my favorite book reviewers (a mystery/thriller lover too!) said it was awesome so I went for it. I should NOT have read the reviews first, the book was great from page one and kept me guessing. It’s a fun twisty read that will capture your attention and hold on to it until the end!

Unique thriller
Have you Seen Her?
By: Catherine McKenzie
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We know right of that someone was killed!
Cassie Peters goes off the grid with a burner phone and working for Yosemite Park as part of the rescue team.
She ends up meeting two women. One is married and one is on a cross country trip with her boyfriend. Who would think that when all these women meet Cassie’s past would come back to haunt her. You can’t alway leave your past behind.
Another riveting thriller that keeps your attention until the crazy ending which catches you off guard. This was my third novel by this author and she always delivers an outstanding story.

I hated the ending
2.5 STARS
Cassie is on the run, back to the mountains she ran from ten years ago and back to working search and rescue. Also on the mountain Jada and her much older partner Sandy and social media blogger Petal and her controlling boyfriend Jim. Their paths cross and worlds collide in mystery.
Though told from the women’s points of view, Cassie is the main character of HAVE YOU SEEN HER and the one to which I felt most connected. Her evasiveness kept me from truly embracing her and I went back and forth on the reliability of her narration. I truly disliked Petal and her naïveté.
The timeline of then and now at times confused me and I forgot who was missing on what timeline.
After finishing HAVE YOU SEEN HER, I needed a bit to digest the ending and writing this review I dropped a star because of my dissatisfaction at the wrap up.

Interesting plot
The only criticism I have is that for the first half of the book it was hard to decipher if 8 was in the past or present storyline. Once I got a handle on that I thoroughly enjoyed this. Did not see the twist coming at all.

Lots of twists and turns in the plot.
The going back and forth in the timeline was really confusing being read aloud at first. Also reading all the hashtags for the IG posts broke up the flow.

The narrator lisps.
The narrator sounded like she had a mouth full of applesauce. So annoying I may never listen to another audiobook. The story was slightly below average. Not interesting enough to overcome the narration. I’m still cringing
