About this listen

It has been a rough month for mage private investigator Alice Worth.

Alice hasn't had a decent night's sleep in weeks, her relationship with werewolf Sean Maclin is on the rocks, a federal agent hounds her every step, and a powerful vampire whose ulterior motives have ulterior motives watches her every move. It's enough to drive any woman to drink.

Just when Alice's ghost sidekick Malcolm is about to stage an intervention, her former employer, Mark Dunlap, enlists her help to find out who's been kidnapping women off the streets. As the list of the missing grows, the city's anger turns against the vampires, and the Vampire Court hires Mark and Alice to find those responsible. After the case reunites her with Sean, Alice is forced to confront painful demons from her past, as well as the very real demon who wants her dead and the vampire determined to control her power.

When tragedy strikes close to home and a friend's life hangs in the balance, Alice goes up against the most powerful adversary she's ever faced in an explosive showdown that will leave Alice and her city forever changed.

Contains mature themes.

Just Amazing

This series just keeps getting better. I really don't understand why it's not more popular, people must just not know about it. The writing is superb, you don't want to put the book down, and the characters are relatable and you just fall in love with them. In book 1 I was a bit on the edge with Alice, but she is growing so much and I definitely understand her and her decisions. I love when an author can really have the character grow through the series. There is nothing more infuriating than a character that makes the same mistakes over and over through a book or series, so I love that this author has Alice grow and change. I highly recommend!!!

One of my favorite new series!

Great story I have definitely discovered a new favorite series. Can’t wait to read the next book.
Love the characters, love the plots, and the pace that the story develops. Each book is great as a standalone and wonderful as a next chapter in an ongoing narrative.

Solid second book

This book is as good as the first. It reveals a little more of what Alice can do beautifully and keeps the tension strong throughout the investigation into missing working girls.

Stakes are higher in Alice's latest case

LOVED Book 1, and Book 2 keeps the tension, suspense, romance, and stakes building. Alice is on the case of missing persons who've disappeared under supernatural circumstances. The public and the police blame vampires, but Alice suspects a group of seriously evil blood mages is behind the disappearances. Proving it turns deadly for a dear friend and costs Alice some of her carefully guarded secrets. Amid a deadly case and dubious allies, Alice finds comfort in friends, a sexy alpha werewolf, and a smoking hot Fed, but only one will accept her for who she is - the good, the bad, and the deadly.

A must read review

Ok first off I like the story a lot the characters are one's you want to learn more about. However I do have one gripe. How many times can one character get burned very badly, knocked in the head and just plainly at deaths door in a short period of time. The mystery is great, there's romance, and the characters are likeable, love the female vampire enforcer she make me laugh wish there was more of her instead of constant burns and head injury to Alice. Even though I have a grip. The story grabs me so I'll go one more book. The narration by Monroe is done very well. I really liked her reading and voices so don't skip the audio version. These are my opinion of the book's I've listened to. So you be the judge. This is not a standalone alone series so start at book one.
