Publisher's summary

An oracle has predicted the sojourner's end, which is a problem for Adam insofar as he has never encountered an oracular prediction that didn't come true...and he is the sojourner. To survive, he's going to have to figure out what a beautiful ex-government analyst, an eco-terrorist, a rogue FBI agent, and the world's oldest religious cult all want with him, and fast.

And all he wanted when he came to Vegas was to forget about a girl. And maybe have a drink or two.

The second book in the Immortal series, Hellenic Immortal follows the continuing adventures of Adam, a 60,000-year-old man with a wry sense of humor, a flair for storytelling, and a knack for staying alive. Hellenic Immortal is a clever blend of history, mythology, sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, mystery and romance. A little something, in other words, for every listener.

Steve Carlson can make, what is suppose to be, a beautiful woman, ugly, with his voice.

I like this story and many other stories (books) that I have read, yet when narrated by Steve Carlson, his woman voice makes me think of a long time smoking grandmother. It generally brings the whole book down for me.

Narrator is too old

Excellent story; I love this series. My only complaint, though I love his tone and delivery is that the narrator sounds at least twice the age of the protagonist who is described as appearing about 32 years old. Admittedly it’s hard to imagine a younger voice sounding as experienced, worn, and worldly as the character must be but there it is. Still we worth the listen.

a little off the beaten path.

this book has more to do with Greek gods and oracles and stuff like that then it does about living forever or about somebody that live forever but it's a great book. I totally enjoyed the book. I plan on getting the third book in the series just to find out if he dies. I bet he doesn't.

Immortal series

I have the entire series. I absolutely love it. I think I have listened to them all at least 4 or 5 times. I also have all the other related storyline books as well. Not only are the stories well written but the narrator really draws you in.

Great follow-up!

I loved the first one and liked this equally well. It's as if the author said "What if Mel Brooks' 2000 year old man was real... and a lot older?"

He'd be hilarious and very fun to read about.

Past lives science fiction mythologized

These stories are intoxicating, like a wine cask of one's own past life memories, mixed with Hollywood film farce, science fantasy and mythical beings, blended in a glass of fermented folly and friendly fun.

Getting into it

I kind of liked the first book but wasn’t quite sold. Doucette’s second book Is a solid continuation and won me over mostly due to the irreverent dry humor that is pervasive throughout the book. Initially I found the somewhat droning style of the narrator a bit irritating but now I think it’s a great fit because of the deadpan way he delivers “Adam’s” sarcasm. I just hope the series doesn’t slide down into a menagerie of weird creatures. A few too many dryads, satyrs, werewolves etc in this volume.

not as good as book 1

I'm going to stop following the series after this book. No major character or story development and it just didn't have whatever the first book had.

Loved book one

This one was painfully boring, will have to reward myself with an extra good book to recover from this one😊
