Publisher's summary

Christmas happens everywhere – except in Daniel Whitmore’s house. After losing his wife during the holidays five years before, Daniel has forbidden his children to celebrate any of the traditions they once loved. It seems things will stay like that forever – until his teenage daughter Melina comes up with a plan.

Abigail Keating, of Boston, misses the family she used to have. Now, with both parents passed away, all she has left is her angry, abusive uncle. When he threatens to marry her off to a gambling hall owner to whom he owes a debt, the time has come to run away and strike out on her own. An advert for a Mail Order Bride in Rough Creek, Missouri, seems to be the perfect opportunity to start anew – until she arrives and finds out Melina wrote the letter on her father’s behalf.

With Christmas right around the corner, Abigail and Daniel start to piece together a friendship, complicated by painful pasts and grief over loved ones they have lost. Will love prevail this Christmas season?

Pa's Christmas Bride

A clean, sweet mail order bride romance about a young woman who is being raised by an evil uncle and a widowed cattle rancher. They were thrown together in a rather unorthodox way and fell in love.

Get into the Christmas spirit!

This is the perfect listen while I walk. A sweet romance about a father and two children who lost their mother several years ago. Now they find their father is not moving on and the older daughter takes matters into her own hands, sending for a mail order bride. Abigail is looking to get out of Boston. Living with her gambling uncle is proving dangerous and taking the mail order bride invitation may be her ticket out! But will it be? Once Daniel and Abigail meet, will there be a connection? And what will Abigail's uncle do? You will have to give this one a listen! You will find yourself in the holiday spirit when you are finished!

Colleen Weaver narrates this gem, and she does a fantastic job. Each voice is perfectly suited for the characters and she easily shifts between children, adults, men and women! It makes the listen enjoyable and fun!

Enjoyable read!

This was short, but sweet. The characters were fun and well developed. The daughter was very mature for her age, and it was sweet for her to think of her father and his happiness. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it.

The narrative was done very well.

I was gifted a copy of this audiobook from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.

Sweet sentiments

This story is a little melodramatic but has sweet sentiments woven into it. A widowed father cannot recover from his grief years after his wife has passed so his family and friend come up with a plan to help him see things more clearly through finding love again.
The reader was clear and expressive in her narration, making the story easy to follow the storyline.
This book is a sweet, clean easy read making it appropriate for young teens to adult readers.
