Unfortunately, she's the one responsible for the Royal Payne losing his crucial fight.

Rowden doesn't want to care for anyone or anything, but if he can just help Modesty find her father, he can be rid of her. I liked the book but there is too many POVs (MMC, MFC and Secondary M & F) the side couple should have been a separate novella. I thought the narration was great (I recommend listening 1.5x)
