Enjoyable story, but too short for the price

In her Chicagoland Vampires and Vail series we were normally treated to ten hours or more of solid story telling. With this series we are receiving an average of little more than 6 hours of story for the same price. Yes I know that this is a young adult level book but if you are going to lower in quantity of pages shouldn't you equally lower the book price. Or don't young readers deserve the same bang for their buck that the more mature readers get?

As for Mary Kane, I am sure that she is doing her best - but I often had problems telling when she was changing characters and there were time when I caught her reading.

(The great Spencer Tracy is credited for having advised protégés to “Never let [the audience] catch you [acting]”)

Hexbound

Not crazy about the narrator! The reading was WEIRD! The speed and to was off.

Robotic Narrator

While the story is decent, the narrator reads almost robotically with pauses in the wrong spots and incorrect tone and inflection. It's very distracting. I suggest purchasing the book and reading it instead.

Pretty much un-listenable

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I think the story is great. Its just that the high pitched voice, and character voices not being separated enough make it very hard to listen to.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Mary Kane?

Anyone
Hathaway

What character would you cut from Hexbound?

Too high and annoying voice pitch for the main character that didn't change enough to distinguish characters, unless it was a male, and the same with them. All girls the same, all guys the same.

Any additional comments?

I believe that if there was another narrator, this book would have many listeners.

I think it has a great story line. But you would almost have to be reading the book along with it to follow.

Please understand that I believe that narration must be hard and I don't know if I could have done better myself? I am not quick to run and pass judgement or to write negative comments. I feel bad for the writer, I believe the audio version does not do her writing justice.

Story is ok, narration not so much.

If you are used to any type of decent narration This is going to sound like fingernails on a chalkboard to you
