About this listen

When Meg time traveled to 1268 Wales and landed in the arms of Prince Llywelyn, she changed the course of history forever. For most citizens of Earth Two, those changes were for the better, but one family in particular was torn apart....

Orphaned since the death of her parents when she was three, Lizzie has spent years praying for someone to rescue her and her sisters from a life of drudgery in their isolated convent. She knows they were meant for greater things, and if only the right person were to discover their suffering, they would once again be treated like the princesses they were born to be.

But when strangers arrive in the middle of the night promising to restore them to their former way of life, Lizzie surprises herself not only by running away but by turning for help to the very person who'd ruined her life in the first place: Queen Marged of Wales.

It just went to show, as Lizzie's old abbess told her more than once, that she needed to be careful what she prayed for. God answered every prayer, but sometimes that answer was no—and sometimes the answer came in a wholly unexpected fashion that made a girl wish she'd never prayed at all.

Love the Story but the Narrator not so much

I have avidly followed this series and can't wait for the next book to come out but this narrator is just not my cup of tea. When she "does voices" they are so outrageously over the top it's hard to listen. Imagine the old time DIsney movie villains, then amp it up even more. She gives young girls old crackly voices with so much dramatic flair it's like listening to a cartoon, not an audio book. I just can't do this, will have to purchase the kindle version to finish and the narrator is just not my type at all. I want to get drawn into the story, not cringe at many of the voices.

Loved Annie! I

I usually hate when a series changes narrators, but Annie Keris is the exception that proves the rule. She has great versatility to create the correct accents & voices for all of the various characters. More, please!

Hope this is not the end

This series has been top notch all the way. I was a bit disappointed initially that this book was not about David but more about Edward’s three daughters. However, it was a good change in perspective and the three girls/women were excellent additions to the story.
I did not have a problem with the narrator. It is always hard to shift.
