Thrown out and thrown away.

Lorne Austen - on the very day his alpha’s youngest children were 15 - was told to pack his bags and leave the only real home he had ever known. Heartbroken and alone he takes shelter from the snowstorm with other stranded travelers, miles away from the family he had always considered his.

Doctor Jonathan Owens has personal reasons for never wanting to mate an omega, but all his good intentions are tested to the limit when he meets Lorne. After spending the night together he is devastated to find Lorne has vanished without a trace.

Soon enough, Lorne discovers the impossible has happened and he is pregnant. But the law says unmated omegas cannot keep the babies they give birth to. Eventually, realizing something is badly wrong with his pregnancy, he goes to the clinic and comes face to face with Jonathan again.

All Lorne has wanted is a family he won’t lose. Jonathan has spent years making sure he never needed one. Faced with the real danger that the babies won’t even survive long enough to be born, can these two find love and the strength they need in each other or will their differences always pull them apart?

A really sweet romance with just enough angst.

I loved this book when I read it and now listening to the audiobook, performed by the fabulous Darcy Stark, has me loving it even more. His voice is so soothing and he gets the inflections right every time!

Below is what I said when I reviewed the ebook in January 2019:

The first book in this series was a very sweet Christmas story and I loved it very much. Now we have His First Family (you don't need to read book 1 first) and it is just as sweet with a bit of angst and a nice amount of heat.

In this series females can give birth and there are also male omegas who can give birth. However, omegas are generally treated as second class citizens and sometime are more like indentured nannies/slaves who care for children birthed by females. I cried sad tears for Lorne when he was ejected from the home where he had lived for over 20 years, caring for his alpha's children; he wasn't even allowed to say goodbye.

The blurb for the book gives the details of the story so please take a look at it. After a great one-night stand Lorne never expects to see Jonathan again. When they do meet and Jonathan learns that Lorne is having his babies, things he said to Lorne the one night they were together come back to bite him. A series of misunderstandings, and Jonathan's witchy ex-girlfriend, cause a lot of friction between Lorne and Jonathan. Both of them need to learn to trust the other but that is easier said than done.

This was really just a very wonderful story and the author's dedication was very moving.

Amazing!

I thought I love this book when I read but OMG listening to it is just perfection! I love every book that Victoria Sue has come out with and this is definitely no different. Then Darcy Stark does an absolutely amazing job in narrating this story. The emotions in this book made me love it even more that just reading it. Love it!

wow

This was even better second time around. I love how the author builds both character and relationships as well as revealing some of the history of this world she's made. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing all the people to life.

☆Absolutely Wonderful.☆

This Story was absolutely wonderful and beautiful. So heartfelt. VS has been blessed with an amazing talent in writing and telling a story. I have listened to many of her books, and have enjoyed them. But this one has really touch my heartstrings. As usual DS was an excellent choice for the narration of this story. He did, and always does, an outstanding job in bringing characters to life. I did not want this story to end. I hope we get a chance to continue to follow them. I have become invested in this storyline and characters. I highly, highly recommend this book.👍I hope we get a book2.🤞

Sweet mpreg

This was better than I expected! Mrepg with a reasonable amount of angst. The mpreg aspect was explained, wich I liked. The narration was good, the soft voice was fitting to the story.
