Delightful and Enjoyable Quick Listen

Annaleigh is a fun character and I am always excited to have a new story from Kirsten Painter narrated by BJ Harrison. They are my favorite duo!

Annaleigh is devastated her grandfather's work in on a hotel is going to be lost. Especially the last remaining gargoyle. But as with all of Painter's books the outcome is happily ever after, after of course the characters have to go through some twisty turns and growth. I have always been fascinated by gargoyles and this story is fantastic its a great read!

If you are a fan of the Shadowvale and Nocturne Falls the characters in this book will fit right in and give you that same smile!

Gargoyles

Another feel good, enjoyable, short story about a gargoyle who was part of a building that was going to demolished. Not much is written about gargoyles and it was good to learn more about them. Great storyline with suspense, mystery and romance. Author is well paired with a great narrator. Would like to see a new series???

His Maker’s Mark

His Maker’s Mark by Kristen Painter
Paranormal romance novella.
Annaleigh Barlow was hoping to save the historical building where her grandfather did the stone masonry work. Unfortunately, it’s been scheduled for destruction so she spends time on the upper outdoor observatory, taking as many photos as possible of the single remaining gargoyle and the stone work.
On one of the last nights before the building implodes as she’s visiting, Annaleigh is assaulted by thugs. Bleeding, she tries to climb up to the windowsills near the gargoyle but her ankle is grabbed and she’s dragged back down. She’s touched the claws of the gargoyle and pleads for any help possible.
Magic happens and Annaleigh’s life changes.

A fable comes to life on her behalf. Annaleigh is a bit naive, honest, hard working and alone. Vasmir will protect the lady that called him. Together they remember his maker and find happiness through his tears.

🎧 the audiobook version of this is narrated by B J Harrison who performs all recent books by this author. You are immediately transported into the paranormal worlds of the author because of the continuity. Emotions arts clearly expressed as the story progresses and keeps your attention. He does talk particularly slowly in my opinion so my listening is at least 1.5 or higher. Listening is fun when doing chores or simply walking around the house. This novella is about three hours at 1.0 or two hours at 1.5. It would take me slight less than that to read it in ebook form.

His Maker's Mark Caught Me From the First Minutes!

His Maker's Mark starts with an action-packed introduction to Annaleigh Bartow. I was on the edge of my seat immediately! I connected with her so much with her love of the gargoyles in the architecture of the old building that her grandfather carved years ago. She knew the building was being taken down to build new condos which is happening a lot in our area. I love old architecture. When she is trying to photograph the last gargoyle, danger & chaos happen and her life is changed from there as she calls out for help. The gargoyle is special and the story going forward is both exciting and heartwarming.
B.J. Harrison does a wonderful job as usual narrating.
I recommend this stand-alone story for anyone loving action, paranormal stories & characters, and romance! Enjoy!

So original

What I like the most about Kristen Painter is that she takes you away from the monotonous stories we're you already know the plot. The main characters on this one is a gargoyle and the lady that bring him to the human side.
