Unlike most books, I seem to lack the ability to stop listening. as soon as this story started I could not get enough. The world building in this series is some of my favorite and the main character Talker is relatable to a non vet like me when he goes into his mild case of imposter syndrome. I think talker is in my top 5 main characters of any series, he's a GOOD person you just can't help but root for. it's hard to come up with criticism for this book on my end, if you are like me and enjoy the Jason/Nick action storytelling you should enjoy this book and I reccomend it.


Also good job to narration, I legitimately forget it is the same guy narrating at points.

Love this series of books, can’t wait for the 3rd to come to audible, it’s very interesting how the characters are evolving and makes you wanna know more!

Another interesting installment into the series, it keeps up the pace, and offers more insight into the setting. plus... COFFEE!

Loved the story and the performance of the voice actor. Great fun with a mash up of all the goodness that is science fiction and fantasy fun.

I don't have much to say on the negative other than I got legit annoyed hearing about coffee addiction... and that's coming from a coffee shop owner.

Such a great cast of characters. Cant wait for more orcs and automatic weapons. Great combination!

The only reason I don't give it 5 star in story is because the rangers are a little too "hoora get your kill on!" grab ass and I wish they had slightly more realistic reactions or impact on them to all these insane things happening to them and around them but that's one flaw other wise very entertaining, Would recommend 👍

Anspach and Cole knock it out of the park again with this book. By the way, it is obvious the coffee haters were never smoked while pulling security in either a patrol base, ORP, or other character-building exercise. Coffee is life, do not hate, appreciate.

Enjoyed ever minute of it. Totally refreshing and enjoyable throughout. The narrator makes it too. Now I just have to wait for the next three (3) books to be produced and posted on audible.
